Haha! That is hilarious! I had never heard about that before, so thanks for sharing! - miyu wrote:

Oh no! They are. I saved them from YouTube before they got deleted though, does anyone want me to upload them? - miyu wrote:

http://www.ifsmagazine.com/forum/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=1803 Is there any pictures of the banqet this year? I remember that! It's the time when Yukari said "Daisuke led me to the dance floor, but then left me alone and started dancing by himself!" right? BTW, Kansai TV News just had Daisuke on as a guest, and they interviewed his hair stylist from Marienbeth! The hair stylist showed a picture of a new hairstyle he wanted to give Daisuke, and it was just... OMG!! I don't even know how to describe it, but it was TERRIBLE!! It's like his hair got fried, and it had white streaks through it! The interviewers asked Daisuke if he would try it, but he said that Utako would get mad at him. I hope someone puts this video on YouTube soon, it's too hilarious not to see! (This makes me very scared for what hairstyles he'll experiment with during the off-season though! )

OHHHHH, I forgot about it. I was enjoying DTFF members' pictures at that time..... Oh, they were wonderful, though. Thank you!

I hope he comes in Greece. We have sunny weather and many beaches here. It would be great if i had vacations with Dai.

| Thanks for the links, miyu! Here's a video of Daisuke meeting the Osaka prefectural governor: http://www.news24.jp/nnn/news8894038.htmlAccording to the articles miyu posted, the governor was surprised that Daisuke only kept his Olympic medal wrapped in a scarf and jokingly remarked, "You treat it so roughly!" Daisuke then replied, "I don't really have much attachment to the medal, my attachment is on the performance." The governor was impressed and said Daisuke was really cool. Reports and pictures from the Kansai University awards ceremony are here: http://www.boom-sports.com/Daisuke said that he still hasn't decided for sure about undergoing surgery in May, because if he does it'll delay his start for next season. He'll discuss it with the doctor after he's done with the ice shows, but it's possible that he may put off the surgery until after next season. Starting tomorrow, Daisuke will participate in three days of ice shows, and then on the 6th he'll return to Okayama, where a parade will be held for him in Okayama city and Kurashiki city. He's going to ride in a convertible through town with Utako and his childhood coach from Kurashiki, and then he'll be presented with some awards. | Thank you all for the interview links, translations, videos - you're so great!!! I moved 2 weeks ago, so I m not online so often these days, but it is such a treat to come into this forum and read your posts!!! - Calliope wrote:

So after I finally managed to fall asleep last night, I had a nightmare that Daisuke didn't actually win gold at Worlds -- the SP/LP results were the same but afterwards they did the SP again, and Daisuke only got 10 points! So Patrick Chan won! This made me laugh so hard. What did he do? Got on the ice without his skates? 10 points is just impossible to get for Dai-chan. I really hoped he would stick with his current choreographers as I LOVED this season's programs - especially "La Strada"! But why not Tom Dickinson? I loved Yu-na's "Roxanne". And please no generic David Wilson! As for Daisuke getting drunk - and I mean really drunk, I have witnessed it myself in Gothenburg. But at the time I thought he was so incredibly disappointed with his 4th place - I guess he celebrates the same way, win or lose.

I don't remember exactly, but I think he thought that he had already won, so when he did the SP again he wasn't focused and messed up all the jumps? Though yes, 10 points would still be too low in that case. But there was this one part where Elvis Stojko was explaining why Daisuke lost, and he said that it was because he "threw the ball (football) like it was the off-season", at which point I was completely like WTF and woke up. Once football entered the picture, I knew it couldn't have been real anymore. - Artemis wrote:

Oh, I would love for Daisuke to work with Tom Dickson too! After he split from Morozov and before he announced that he was working with Camerlengo, I really wanted him to work with Dickson. I've loved all the Dickson programs I've seen so far.

I hope Dai can get a few more opinions from different doctors and come up with the best decision (not just for next season, but his longevity). I wonder what sort of graft they used for his ACL reconstruction surgery.... he looked VERY healthy this season, extremely successful comeback for an ACL injury. Athletes in other sports w/ ACL injuries have had tougher times and struggled to return. I think sports medicine is really advanced in Japan and they seem to have the utmost care in whatever they do.

| Thank you, Calliope. From boomsports, I laughed so much on this. http://www.boom-sports.com/archives/51820941.htmlAsked "what does Utako Nagamitsu coach for you?", he answered "her heart is black....... No, deep. " Hahaha , he wanted to say "ふところが深い(fukai)= tolerant" but actually said "黒い(kuroi)= black" (sounds like evil-minded). The other day he also said "black hole" when he wanted to say "dark horse." So funny!!! http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/winter/skate/figure/headlines/20100403-00000013-dal-spo.htmlSome comments from this article. "After the olympics, I lost the motivation. It was hard for me to lift up my spirit for the worlds but now, my mind looks forward without losing the motivation. It's an unexpected thing even for me." "I'd like to do more high-tension music next." "So far I haven't took dance lessons seriously, so I want to do. Such as Tango, Spanish(Flamenco), Ballroom dance, Hip Hop and Jazz. Though I was given high marks (on eye and La Strada), I'd like to do something totally different." Flamenco! But it's a bit similar to "eye"? - BIBI wrote:

I heard his knee doctor is very famous, one of the best doctors for such injuries in Japan. He has a lot of experiences curing top athletes. That's why Dai-chan's rehab went so well and he could come back in one year!! So I think you don't need to worry much.

Some pictures are here: http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/100403/spm1004032107001-n1.htm He's performing in Diamond Ice today and tomorrow, and since it's going to be broadcast on TV on Monday, hopefully we can see videos of it.

| Thank you for the information, miyu and Calliope! I found the same vid of Daisuke meeting the Osaka prefecture governor as Calliope wrote. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYvQAVwi-JgToday, I heard that Daisuke performed "eye" and anchor "La Strada"(from straightline steps) in Diamond Ice. I think it's very special program for TV. I wish I could be there!! BTW, I also found a beautiful vid from his exhibition program "Luv Letter". Here is an another version using a theme of Japanese historical TV drama "Ryoma-den". It's really powerful song. | Daisuke's performance from Diamond Ice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lPMw_B5Uf0I think this is from the performance on 4/4. It seems like it was an awesome show, but only a few skaters made the broadcast. No Hanyu (I really wanted to see his new exhibition!), and only digests of some performances from foreign skaters. This video from Okayama news shows the parade route Daisuke will be traveling today and includes interviews from residents who are excited to see him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJG0J-W00QUIt's so funny how they stuck a picture of his face onto the moving car on the map. Daisuke, Takahiko, Mao, and Mai will appear on an entertainment show called Tokyo Friends Park II. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06alQGBwBzgIt doesn't say when the broadcast date is, just that it'll be "soon". Some skaters were on this show last year too, and it seemed really funny, so I'm looking forward to it. | |

| Thank you Calliope It's currently loading, I'm excited to watch Daisuke's performance. I hope Takahiko's performance will show up online at some point. I'd love to see his performance, too. That car thing is so amusing. I'm guessing Daisuke, Takahiko, Mao, and Mai will be on TFP2 in two weeks on the 19th. Next week the guest are going to be Mizobata Junpei, Ichiguro vs NON STYLE so they are probably there the week after. TFP2 is awesome. This is going to be really entertaining! Excited for this! | |
