| Leode, thank you so much Second video does not starts but it is fixed on Dai's beautiful face so it's OK all the same for me. New pic in layout I love to see Dai smiling.. he is so cute In Kobe Dai seems more relaxed and at his ease than in some late interviews by the end of December. Yes, this is the right spirit and the right mood Ganbare Dai-chan - Kin Medal | |

| Leode and ostile thanks for the Dai updates. I am glad that there was a party for Dai-chan. He looks so happy.
I remember reading earlier that the JSF had rented a rink near Sochi for Team Japan to train before the games start. Any news when the team members are due to arrive?
Kin Medal Dai-chan!

| Kansai university also held send off ceremony for Daisuke and Machida today. According to official twitter, Daisuke said the condition of his knee has been improved and recovered almost 80%. progress of training also has been being so well. He feels that he can skate in best shape in Sochi. And some parts of his program(s? I don't know whether sp or lp) were changed.
************************************************************************** Thanks guys for many things. I think today's his face says everything. Go, Daisuke!!! Gold medal is yours!!!

Thank you fosse, for the Hochi Shimbun news article. The translation I tried. ↓ (Warning: melting hazard ) ******************************* On the 8th of this month, Daisuke Takahashi, the men’s single of figure skating who will represent Japan in Sochi Olympics attended a Send-off Party taken place at the headquarter of P & G Japan in Kobe. He was impressed by the surprise message from his mother, Kiyoto (64) and declared to get the gold medal to repay her for her support. The company has been promoting the campaign to support the Olympic athletes and their mothers. Takahashi’s mother, who has supported him working as a barber, gave him message presented as: “after your life as an athlete is over, never forget the treasures you got from all the people and walk your way straight and sincere as a human”, Takahashi responded, “no matter what happened she always said that I worked hard, did it great. I think I will find a lady like her for my wife”, and showed his bashful smile. In the Japan Nationals at the end of the last year he finished in the 5th place due to his right leg injury, but he resumed his on-ice practice on the 2nd. He shared his positive feel of his recovery saying “at this rate I will be able to go in a perfect condition”. He is planning to leave Japan during this month and get the final conditioning done in Moscow, Russia where his Coach Morozov is based in. ********************************

| Thank you so much for sharing information, pics and vids, all!! Here is the Shizuka's interview with Daisuke: http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/olympic/2014/feature/20140107-OYT8T00454.htmShizuka Arakawa Interview with Daisuke Shizuka: This is your 3rd Olympic appearance, isn't it? Is there any difference for you between this time(Sochi) and previous Games(Torino & Vancouver)? Daisuke: I have a really mixed feeling this time due to my unsatisfactory result of Japan Nationals. I really feel responsible for the significance to be selected the representive of Japan. S: Which Olympic Games is the biggest pleasure to be selected for you? D: Sochi Olympic Games. I didn't keep a good condition during the competition at Japan Nationals and I was so irritated that my competitors kept a good shape. And also, it's hard to see next Olympic Games for me. This is the last time to go to the Olympics. That's the reason why I'm so glad this time. S: Everytime you participate in the Olympics, do you feel a lot of pressure? D:Yes, but this time, I will put a lot of pressure on me. Because I don't want everyone to think that it's not me to be selected at all. And I'll put my life on the line this time. S:You made clear the selection criteria for that, but Japan Nationals is a very special one for us. D:Exactly, I was really dissapointed that I didn't get a medal at Nationals. S:Did you recognize that it would be your last competition at Japan Nationals? D:Yes. I thought I was just keep running to the Sochi, after then I would think about my next step. However, during my steps in FP at Nationals, I felt this was going to be end for me. After I finished all jumps, I finally realized that my performance was not to be worth for the podium and then I was in despair without thinking the selection criteria. -To be continued next issue- | |

| Thank you so much Twind, and Leode!!! Twind, don't thank me, you're the one doing all the hard work! Here's a rough translation of Oda's words about Dai-chan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnTge5cFt34&noredirect=1*Nobunari Oda speaking* " I met him (Daisuke) first when I was a 3th or 4th grade student. From then on we played in same games. When we were children, he was in Okayama and I was in Osaka. He often came to my practice rink and we used to play together. I think he has uneasiness because of his injury, but he is a man of strong power in adversity. So I expect to see his power. If his injury gets healed, he is one of best prospects for the gold medal. I hope he will do his best." https://www.facebook.com/DaisukeTakahashiRoadtoSochi/posts/10152101854918936 | |
