| Also reading thread about Morozov there I understand like Yagudin was working with Amodio on his jumps in Novogorsk (russian olympians base? Like NM said - yes, Florent could train there! ), and with famous russian trainer, who was trainer of Yagudin and Kulik. Florent nailed his 4S after all. Now I think, it would be great, if Dai trains with Morozov full time. What do you think? | |

Florent nailed his 4S after all. Now I think, it would be great, if Dai trains with Morozov full time. What do you think? I must have missed that post. Or I can't see it because I'm not a registered user. Honestly, I don't know what to think of that, Lil. Time will tell, I guess. I suppose Daisuke will make a final decision based on how the upcoming season evolves. In other words, based on his results in competitions. To be even more specific, whether or not he will be able to beat Chan / Plushenko / Hanyu. If he does so consistently, I can see Mr Morozov being promoted from his advisor position to a head coach one at the end of the season. If he doesn't, then it probably won't happen. At this point, there's no way of knowing that, IMO. Looks like we have to wait for JO, GP, GPF and Nats results first.

Neither me, but looks like it's open to readers off-season. After Dai's "reunion" with Morozov I forced myself to read their 20 pages. - hsuhs wrote:

yeah, we have to wait. Enaufomay, the biggest mystery for me is that Russian federation allowed Morozov to work with Dai. Bye then.

Sure - Spoiler:
Also somewhere (I don`t remember exactly where, don`t ask me for link) Mishin said that Lambiel and Lysacek were trained some time with him to jump quads. With Brian learning from Yagudin, it`s interesting tendency, isn`t it?

| Thank you for the link, Lil Yes, I found a mention of Amodio's facebook post about him training with Yagudin at some point, there. I read many times in Yagudin's interviews he's not into coaching at all. So I guess that collaboration didn't last long? I also remember an old interview with Joubert saying he used to work with both Mr. Morozov and Yagudin, but, because the two couldn't get along, Brian was forced to choose between them. He chose Mr. Morozov. I also see people in that tread link and quote many last year's interviews with Mr. Morozov. I found the following quotes interesting: - Quote :
- The only [exception] might be the Japanese Federation, but of course if [a Japanese skater] were to ask me, I would think about it. I say this because I've done so well for the Japanese, and they don't even say thank you. If it weren't for me, there would be no Daisuke Takahashi.
Source: http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20110630&content_id=21206186&vkey=ice_news - Quote :
- Men's single skating nowadays places an emphasis on ballet-like, dancy moves, and also on grace and flexibility... It's no secret that many young men of a different [sexual] orientation have emerged. It [the orientation] impacts their skating [style] and inevitably influences the entire men's skating.

| I guess Yagudin - Amodio collaboration had advisory, temporary character. I'm not surprised that Joubert's choice was Morozov over Yagudin. He seems to have even worse character, than NM.
I don't know JSF's attitude towards Morozov, but Miki's gold in Moscow should ease it. Seems like Morozov expected praising and didn't get it. If he will be really helpfull to Dai, I think they will be fine.
As for "gay factor" in FS, I don't care about people sex.orientation, but I prefer to see masculine style of skating. And since all three Nice worlds medalists skating seem masculine to me (excepting Hanyu's bielmannn- get rid of it, for God's sake!) I don't see judges were supporting feminine style.
Morozov said what he said, but at least he is honest.
I have high expectation towards next season, can't wait till JO.

Yagudin's always been Brian's idol. Joubert copycats Alexei, talks very highly of him all the time, he's even been copying Yagudin's costumes. Yet, when faced with a hard choice, Joubert went for Mr. Morozov. I can only speculate about his reasons, I think he thought the latter would be better for his career. - Lil wrote:

Morozov said what he said, but at least he is honest. With that quote I was more referring to Mr Morozov's notion reg a 'sudden' emergence of a certain skating style that he associates with men of a 'different' sexual orientation. In my opinion, there's always been elegance, flexibility and grace in men's skating. There's always been so many (allegedly) gay men involved in the sport. There's nothing "sudden' about it. Plushenko used to do biellmanns too, when he was younger. I admit, I can't stand the masculine style of skating, for the most part. Funny how we post on the same forum, Lil, isn't it?

Yes, but it's ok, since we admit that people have their own opinions. ;-)

| Thank you for the link, Let's talk. Dai looks cute, much better than previous Mohican style This blog made me nostalgic, because I got my hair cut and treatment there by Nagasawa-san in April during my trip to Japan. I did not tell him that I am a Dai's fan, but he may know, because I told him that I came from US For non Japanese speaking people. Here's rough translation. Dai came to the Salon on 19th. Dai is so nice and polite to let me know," I will be late" Because it's a while since his last hair cut, his hair became kind of unruly. Dai was very tired due to busy schedule with no rest. Daii got hair cut and treatment today. In the process, I tried mushroom cut that Dai wanted to wear before and laughed a lot. Recently, Dai said that he has been so busy and has not had any rest. But I felt that he has been learning a lot in his busy life. Dai says(looking at the new hair being styled) " Well, I am loosing my sexiness. But I feel more comfortable with this style now. Is this kind of refreshing just like a hair of a businessman?" We talked a lot.Although Dai was tired physically as well as mentally, I felt that he was regaining his energy while I was cutting his hair. Dai was sometimes spaced out, sometimes enjoyed music. It seemed that Dai slept deeply during shampoo by Iwachan. I wanted to dye his hair too, but he did not have time today. He left the salon briskly saying" I will come back soon" | |

| Hello Genki :-)
Thank you so much for the translation!
It's somehow sad to hear that Dai-chan is so exhausted! And that he has so little time for himself. On the other hand it's lovely to hear that he could space out and have a little nap while being cared for! :-))
The remark about his sexiness is sooo funny :-))) It reminds me of Tenjou Nighto asking Riiko "Ore mo sexy?" :-))))
All a great day!
Gudrun.

"I'm loosing my sexiness"??? I totally disagree. Short hair suits him the most IMO. So most of the time I want to kill his stylist for his crazy ideas, lol. Joke. Ah, also remember Dai's photo from NHK banquet. Just cool hair and business suit.
