| A short interview filmed on 14 Nov. https://youtu.be/rJ3T9WHx6Ow(About Morozov) At that time I was totally dependent on him. (I thought like that) it would be fine as far as I did what he said. Now I don't think everyhing he says is right, "that's a nice advice." or "No, it's wrong." I digest his words by myself. (About quads) The rate of success isn't high but how I fail isn't bad, either. It's like I fail now but I will be able to land it in the competition. BTW, do you know you can send a cheering message in NHK Trophy's site. http://www1.nhk.or.jp/figure/message/messageform.html1. first box: choose "男子シングル" 2. second box: of course "高橋大輔" 3. third box: write your message 4. 4th box: choose the last one "海外" 5. select your age. 6. select your gender. left-male right-female Gambare Dai-chan!! | |

| Dai-chan talked about what happened in China by his own words. http://sankei.jp.msn.com/sports/news/121120/oth12112016520000-n1.htmI'm sorry this is horribly rough translation. It's something just better than Google translation, probably. He also talked about the situation with Nikolai and Utako-sensei in it. After 2 weeks camp in US., he broke in new skating boots but they didn't fit him at all (worse than he imagined) and made his jumps disordered. He even couln't land any jumps when he came to China. He felt upset during the warm-ups and the rink looked much larger than usual. He lookd back CoC that he failed to control the things including the preparation toward the competiton. However he felt better during the 6minutes warm-up in FP, so he expected something better but you can't cover up the lack of practice. Though some people might say that two quads in FS is a reckless try, he never thought not doing them. He couldn't take a full swing with his unfitting boots when he jumped. During stsq, he also had to save his power in order not to fall. What he felt angry to himself is the fall on a triple jump in the second half. Honestly speaking he lost his concentration. As the result of consuming too much unnecessary power, he couldn't even breath properly and keep his concentration. But he thinks he should manage to do better in even the worst situation like that. It seems taht the quads attract people's attention but he himself don't have specila feeling with them so much. I put them just because I can't win without them . Figure skating isn't only quads, a skater can't win just with quads. Hope the problem has been already solved.... Gambare Dai-chan!! | |

| Hi guys! Thank you for letting know me about the magazine, let's talk. I'll defnitely buy it! Here is Yamato Tamura's blog about NHK Trophy. http://www.jsports.co.jp/skate/yamato/cat517/nhk/Yamato thinks... Dai-chan couldn't show off even 50% of his real ability so far this season but at the same time it proved his strength as well because he made GPF under such a difficult circumstance. And probably the rise of Yuzu helps to decrease the burden he has bore for Japan. As you know, Yamato works in Kandai Univ's ice rink as an assistant coach of Hamada. He is also a good friend of Dia-chan, so perhaps knows the current situation very well. Someone posted a link of the video of Dai-chan, Yuzu, Mao and Akko in NHK thread. In it Dai-chan praised Yuzu's jumps are so beautiful, they are some art. How nice of him to say so! I think it shows the beauty of Dai-chan's personality. And when they were asked how they think of each other, Yuzu answered "(Dai-chan is) an icon in every way." (as a person, as a "senpai" and as skater, he said later. ) (well wasn't his icon Plushenko before??? ) , while Dai-chan described Yuzu as a person who both scares him as a skater, yet the same time, can be relied on for Japanese male figure skating future. I happened to see a morning TV show which introduced Tatsuki, today. As you know, he followed Dai-chan's pass (the same high school and university) partially because he has been a fan of him. (In it, IIRC, Tatsuki's mother said they even can't believe he competed against Dai-chan.) I wonder how it's like to be a role model/ icon/ goal/ anything of younger skaters over 10 years. Of course it's not only Dai-chan as he followed the footsteps of Takeshi and Yamato.... Anyway new videos! https://youtu.be/aRy_GLe6iToIt was filmed before NHK but aired today. https://youtu.be/Eh9q1oz48K8Mainly about his injury and comeback story. | |

| Thanks for the videos miyu and let's talk.
In the TV interview that twind translated Hanyu said that "he admires Dai in all respects" he did not say Dai was his favorite skater. I think Plushenko and Johnny Weir have that honor. lol

he did not say Dai was his favorite skater. Unfortunately due to my poor knowledge of English , I don't know the difference in nuance between 'respect', 'admire', 'esteem' and so on, but I understand all of those words basically mean '尊敬する(そんけいする)' in Japanese. What Yuzu said is '憧れる(あこがれる)', not '尊敬する(そんけいする)'. They are similar but a bit different. The object of the verb '憧れる(あこがれる)' is often what you want to be. But the object of '尊敬する(そんけいする)' isn't necessarily so. For example, people '尊敬する(そんけいする)' Helen Keller but never '憧れる(あこがれる)' her. (Do you know Helen Keller? If not, how about Hillary Clinton ( )? Maybe Aung San Suu Kyi or Dr. Hawking?) Contrarily some of young girls '憧れる(あこがれる)' Amy Winehouse or Paris Hilton but they are rarely '尊敬される(そんけいされる)'(=respected). But usually the heroes and heroines could be the object of both '尊敬する(そんけいする)' and '憧れる(あこがれる)'. So what I want to say is here, the object of '憧れる(あこがれる)' is often your icon and Yuzu said he '憧れる(あこがれる)' Dai-chan even in every aspect of him. So I think Dai-chan is kinda Yuzu's icon. Yes, perhaps Yuzu respects and loves Plushenko and Johnny much more.

| ^Oh Twind your knowledge of English is excellent. I understand and thank you for the explanation of the Japanese language, which I had absolutely no knowledge of before I joined this forum. You and so many others on this forum have been very helpful to me with regards to the Japanese language that I am learning a little about the language. I am very grateful to you all. ------- https://daisuke-takahashi.forumotion.com/viewtopic.forum?t=912 | |
