| Thank you for the link ostile17. I went to PIW today. But Dai didn't perform new EX, he tried on the first day only...sigh Maybe he was not satisfied with it yet?? or too tired to perform it?? He performed great mambo in black instead as you can see in the pictures. But he looked great and landed 2 triple triple combinations perfectly. Also his quod was so easy and beautiful. He looked skiny and even taller. His aura seems to be growing bigger and bigger. I think he surely gets his confidence back and will give us great SP and FP again for this year. I just can't wait.
For choreographers, I thought Pasquale had a contract or something to work with Dai until Sochi because he mentioned he was going to work with him til Olympics in an article earlier, didn't he? David Willson wants to make Dai's FS, too. (Yutaka mentioned about it at NHK trophy last year) Everybody wants to work with Dai. It's really really great!!!

| Thank you for those links, ostile17 They are cute indeed Daisuke's smile makes me smile too! Thank you for sharing, Enaufomay - Enaufomay wrote:

Oh that's unexpected. Maybe it's not 100% ready yet? Once I heard what Daisuke's new EX was going to be, I went to youtube and listened to Snoop Dogg's songs and watched so many hip-hop videos (StepUp and StreetDance movies clips included). Hubby noticed that, asked: - Do you really expect Daisuke to do all THAT on the ice?!! I'm like: - I dunno. Those moves look hard, almost impossible to repeat on the ice without breaking your neck. - Enaufomay wrote:

He looked skiny and even taller. His aura seems to be growing bigger and bigger. Daisuke's one of those very few skaters, who go for difficult jumps in exhibitions. He does 3A's in Gala's as if it's no big deal And now the quad too?! I wish I was there! Thanks again, Enaufomay

| Oh~ Enaufomay, you went to morning show, didn't you?
Daisuke performed Sweat in the afternoon show. I heard that he even attended PIW's fanmeeting in the evening.

| Today in the morning show Dai skated Mambo in his blackshirt suit, the one that he used in JO for Blues. He landed two combos 3L-3T and 3F-3T plus and amazing 3A. In a finale he landed an iron 4T, clean and fair. In the afternoon show he skated his new EX "Sweat". Enaufomay, it has nothing to do with if he is satisfied or not satisfied with his new EX. It has everything to do with fans' needs. Some of them come from other prefectures and visit both shows on the same day. That's why top skaters often perform two different programs on the same-day shows. Dai wasn't the only one. Kanako skated her quickstep stuff in the morning show and her WTT gala EX in the afternoon. Akiko skated tango in the morning and her WTT gala stuff in the afternoon. Dai's new EX "Sweat" was definitely inspired by Joubert and Amodio WTT gala stuff, with slutty crotch moves, seductive steps and a ridden up T-shirt that exposed Dai's tummy and black-magenta underwear. No way you'll see it on J-TV news clip. Lucky me I saw it live. But what the hell. It's almost summer now. Nobody wants to be serious in summer. His new EX wasn't downloaded with super elements like a quad or 3A, but the purpose of that EX was different a priori. Maybe it was created overnight specially for PIW shows only. In a finale he too tried a quad, but unlike in the morning show it wasn't super clean- step out and two hands on the ice. After the show skaters talked to fans, shook hands with them, accepted gifts, took pics and videos. I didn't interact with Dai in the morning show (I was busy with Kozuka, it was his last day in PIW). In the afternoon show I first didn't know what to say to him. That thought that he was the true World champion was for weeks in my head. But I think Dai was hurt in Nice and I didn't want to bring that negative memory in that PIW festive event. On the other hand, how can any of us know for sure what he thinks or feels. Maybe he wants to hear that he was the true champion in Nice. One thing to know it or read about it in media or on message boards. Another thing is to hear it live and straight to your face from a person. Guess what. When the time came up, my subconscious took the lead. I assumed the authorty to speak from an international community and, unlike with Kozuka, I switched into English and said "Dai, we love you. You are the true Wolrd champion." ... And I felt a relief that I said what I wanted because I said the truth. At first he looked slightly surprised that someone addressed to him in English in that 100% Japanese Skate Center. He listened, then smiled when I finished, said "arigato gozaimasu" and shook my hand. He had a very warm hand. A 0.00001 of a second later I took his pic. I already printed it out. The way how happy he looks assured me that he was glad to hear what I said. I'll be in Shin-Yokohama on Thursday and Friday too and I'll update you the instant I can.

| Enaufomay, let's talk, thanks for sharing. You are lucky in Japan. Enaufomay, my guess is Dai himself is easily get bored to repeat the same number twice per day-14 shows in PIW. So he will switch between Mambo, Crisis, Roxanne, Sweat. BTW, was Plushenko there? I mean, in PIW site his picture is on every show adv. let's talk, you mentioned it was last day for Kozuka in PIW. That means for Mao too? | |

Lol. You are talking about them as of a couple . Mao wasn't there today. She was scheduled only for 28 and 29. Kozuka- for 28, 29 and 30. Plushenko is supposed to be in PIW in July.

| Thank you for the reviews of the show, sounds like you all had a great time.
let's talk I am glad and proud of you for speaking the truth to Dai. I would have been so nervous and tongue tied meeting Dai that I would have just smiled and shook his hand.
Again thanks to everyone for the reports and photos.

| let's talk, thanks for answer. I didn't want to say like Kozuka and Mao as a couple, just they both coached by Sato, so probably have the same shedule.
So Dai likes pink underwear? My friends were LOLing at photo from Moscow, when he jumped in the park like in Mambo. :-D

I edited my original post into "magenta" color in order not to derail the talk. As for what color underwear he likes, well in his books there are some: white, black, green, grey. That is what I remember without checking the source.

| Wow, there are so many messages. It's hard to catch up with.... So, I should have bought a ticket for the afternoon show..deep, deep sigh Let's talk, you are so lucky and thank you for your long reports and opinions. It explains almost everything. I wish you could teach me English Actually I had been a little worried about his physical conditions because he tweeted after the show that he was extremely tired and couldn't believe they were still on the first day. I could easily imagine how much struggles he was taking to wake himself up in the morning. But on the show, he was really shining and full of confidence which made me sooooo heppi, and with that clean quad at the finale....I had no words. Other skaters, too they all skated so well in the morning. I felt sooo relieved and satisfied even if I couldn't watch Dai's new EX. Let's talk, one thing I want to know is how many jumps he made during his new EX and how long the music lasts. Like hsuhs said I just can't believe doing quick steps and showing break dance and making jumps...must be soooo hard. Does he take a lot of pauses during his performance? I may be able to get a ticket on the day, but I would rather save the money for FOI and JO. And I have never succeeded in getting a single ticket for any competitions yet except JO because of my job schedule and unluckiness Shyla, I can imagine you got so nervous and tongue tied. It was a wonderful moment just watching even from a distance how Dai smiles and gives a couple of words back to his fans. What a lovable man and engaging character and a great talent he has. One and only, he really is!! It's good Shin Yokohama arena is rather small and cozy. | |

| Today Dai also skated Mambo in the morning, landed 3F-3T, 3L-3T, 3A with no problem. In the finale a quad was two-footed. At first I though he looked a little pale. But then I understood it was just the effect of light. Actually he looks very well: cheerful, friendly to everyone and tender. In the afternoon show he skated "Sweat", 3A was with a stepout, as well as later a quad in a finale. The new EX in fact suits him rather well and sits on him just right. He feels comfortable in that style and music and surely he is having a good time while skating it . I have no doubt he will show it in shows in China, where I hope the rules are not so strict and probably some videos will sneak on youtube. Then guys you will see the new EX in full. Today I first greeted him in English with "Welcome to Sochi!" I am the host country afterall . He actually recognized me , which was not a difficult thing to do- to recognize a white in a Japanese audience, especially if that white rants too much like myself . After welcometoSochi stuff I wanted to tell him something like "orimupikku de kin medaru o kitaishiteimasu (I hope you will get the Olympic gold medal) or ... totte kudasai (pretty much the same, just a little stronger). You know what. I could say only a half of the phrase! After "medaru" he interrupted me and said "Gambarimasu!" You see? He is ready to go in full!!! And the same instatnt I took the pic: http://i075.radikal.ru/1205/b0/f241a4611ade.jpg He looks cool and great. Btw, I saw his coach Nagamitsu today in the arena. I updated my twitpic link with some new photos from today's shows. http://www.twitpic.com/photos/00LT | |
