| lucky you are are competing teams from Canada, China, France, Japan, USA and Russia (the participating countries were determined by criteria set forth by the ISU). Each country fields two men, two ladies, a dance and a pair team. The prize money, totaling US$1 million, is the largest amount ever offered at an ISU event. The winning team splits $200,000; second place is worth $170,000; third gets $160,000; and so on down the line. Each single skater and pair team will execute a short and free program, with ice dancers performing their original and free dances. There's also an exhibition, including several skaters and teams not competing in the event.
Do you know if Daisuke will be there?

| Just an interesting news. http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/090415/spm0904151212000-n1.htmAccording to this article, Mao will try 3A in SP. She said "This is a competition where I can challenge something. It would lead me to the next seaon." She will jump 3As in both of SP and FP. Miki landed 4S in the official practice so she might try 4S. | |

And this has proved to be a smart move Mao seems to need a solid SP lead, and it's always a pleasure to watch her executing a combo no other lady in the world is capabale of doing.

The best "Clare du Lune" ever from her. Her SP was a bit to me so far but this time it was really really beautiful! Especially that Cist in which she was just dancing moon light. Stephane Lambiel who invited to the gala, was soooo good!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n06hUZkAWwLook at the height of his jumps. And again as usual, gorgeous spins and footworks. It seems nothing has left from his skating. I think he could come back to competitions even today. Maybe he could get 10 in Interpretation from this performance. So, 08-09 season is over. It started with the awful, heartbreaking news. At that time I couldn't imagine what this season would be like... Anyway it came to end. And then Olympic season will start soon. Vancouver is Dai-chan's long-time dream. I well know there are several superb skaters who also wish to win there. It would be a fierce battle. (Perhaps very different from Turin Olympic.) However how hard the battle would be, it would be enough if I could just see Dai-chan skating with full of joy on Vancouver ice. Maybe it's a bit early to say this but ..... I pray that God will smile on him when he takes the ice at Vancouver. GO DAI-CHAN!!
