| Hi anne-marie! Yes, it's about to start! There hasn't been much news about World Championships in Japan. But I found a couple of news today. Miki, Fumie, Nobu and Takahito Mura were already in L.A and appeared at yesterday's official practice. Miki jumped 3-3, 2A-3 easily and Nobu looked in good shape jumping 3A-3. Accoding to the latest news, Mao who is leaving from Japan to L.A. today, had to change her flight from Narita to Kansai International Airport (Osaka) due to the airplane accident this morning at Narita airport. I hope this won't affect her condition. How about French team? Any news about Brian or Yannick? | |

| this championship is strange, without Stephane Lambiel, Buttle and Daichan... and in dance, Isabelle Delobel and Olivier (I love their original dance, a nurse from the Navy who met an old man who is feeling younger) In the USA the French team is trained by Eric Millot , a former french champion who is now a coach in San Diego. Brian realized several quads during his 2 trainings (quad toe loop and quads Salchow). Yannick Ponsero seems to replace the triple lutz by the triple Salchow in his short program Funny but not funny, the luggage of the german champion has been lost, and he is training with an old pair of skaters someone brang to him | |

Oh yes.... I hope Isabelle gets well soon. - anne-marie wrote:

Good for him! I'm wondering whether he is going to try 2 quads in FP or not. - anne-marie wrote:

It will be safer for him. I'd love to see he finishes in the top 6. I found some new news about Japanese team. Takahiko(Kozuka) said he wouldn't try a quad this time. (I have to say it's a smart decision.) Nobu landed 4-3-3 in practice. Mao had a press interview at the airport. She modified her program with Tarasova in Russia after 4CC. The jump layout wasn't changed but they modified transition parts. Regarding this morning accident that she had to change her flight, she said she could catch the official practice so it changed nothing in my mind.

| I've just watched some videos on youtube. I don't know what to say about Compulsory Dance... I'm not very expert in Dance so I prefer waiting after the Original... About Pairs... Savchenko/Szolkowy were great, but I don't really appreciate this SP... I don't understand the 5 points between S/S and Zhang/Zhang: I found them very elegant in this performance. | |

| You're welcome! Thanks for posting the results from pairs glorydave! I try to watch as much as I can from the WC I couldn't saw the pairs live transmision but I saw the registred one. I'm sad for Pang/Tong - just 5 is not what I ewanted for them. Aliona and Robin's sp is so great! The most dinamic program in pairs event this year. I also like Yuko/Alexander and Maria/Maxim. I saw the CD - also I'm not an expert, so I will say just my opinion. Khokhlova/Novitski deserve more than 4th place. I think Domnina/Shabalin and Belbin/Agost deserve their places but I'm not confortable with the place that Faiella/Scali and The Kerr's are. I wanted to be higher! | |

| K/N are actually 5th right now and they were way off time according to the experts. I loved how B/A opened their dance. The French commentator was going crazy over it!
For pairs, I was hoping Pang and Tong would be higher. They were kind of sluggish so I guess I understand the 5th place. Hopefully, they can rest up and skate a strong free tonight.
Men's event going now...Samuel Contesti is taking the ice right now...

| Watched Pairs earlier. Quite pleased with the results. K/S are my absolute faavourites (they are so cute!) and they placed beyond expectation today, so I can almost say I am very pleased. Z/Z are my favourites among the chinese so all in all today went well imo. I glanced through the CD. I hate CD... And when they´re doing paso doble, I hate it even more. I'll wait until the OD before giving any judgements about the pairs. Although, V/M are so adorable! Tessas dress was gorgeous! But the Kerrs.... I would love for them to place higher, but paso doble just isn't their cup of tea. I hope they'll climb a spot or two after OD and FD. Would have loved to watch the mens, but I'm working tonight. I'll be looking at it tomorrow evening instead. I'll be checking in after that again. Can't risk getting spoiled. | |

| Men's short is over. Brian Joubert won it, Evan Lysacek's second, and Patrick Chan is third. Both Evan and Patrick did clean programs without the quad while Brian messed up both jumps on his quad combo. Tomas Verner is 4th. He did a beautiful quad-triple. Kozu is 5th after a clean performance.
I feel bad for Jeremy Abbott. He's down in 10th right now after sort of a disastrous skate where he messed up two out of three jumping passes. Brandon Mroz, on the other hand, did very well and is 8th right now.
Oh and Happy Birthday Nobunari Oda! He didn't have the greatest short program. He's 7th right now.

| Thank you everybody for results and for your comments! First of all: I really miss Dai-chan! I hope everything is going well. GO DAI-CHAN! This time I watched men SP live, witha cup of coffee by my side! It was a great competition! I'm very glad for Contesti! ... not only because I'm italian! I think he did a great job and I'm sure he can do well with his FP. I love it! Maybe he can't have higher PCS , he's not considered as a top skater, but he's got a very solid program... About PCS... I really don't understand. How can Brian have the highest PCS? 2 points more than Chan or Verner... 3 points more than Kozuka... Chan and Kozuka did a clean program, they were so elegant and they interpreted their music very well... Thay seemed to fly on the ice. I really loved their performances and they deserved something more IMO... Or Joubert deserved something less... I read this Chan's statement on the italian site www.artonice.it "Sono davvero deluso dai punteggi. Penso che molta gente avrà da discutere su questo. Penso che sia quasi ovvio che c'è molta differenza tra me e Evan rispetto a Joubert. E' molto frustrante per me e non solo per me, anche Lori Nichol è piuttosto arrabbiata." "I'm very disappointed by the scores. I think that many people will discuss about that. I think it's almost obvious that there is a big difference between me or Evan and Joubert. It's very frustrating for me. Also Lori Nichol is angry." | |

| *dodges Pairs results* Just finished watching mens SP. A great competition. The swedish boys did okay. But they need to move up if we're going to get more than one spot for the Olympics next year My stupid computer stopped recording after Tomas, so I missed out one one fantastic performance from Patrick. I'm not very fond of him, but that is a fantastic skater. I felt so sorry for Abbott, I really wanted him yo do better. He looked so sad after the skate.... And Oda! He gave me quite a scare! Really sad considering how much I love his SP. Kozuka did a great job. I hope he nails this. Just because I want a japanese on the podium (and none of my other favourites did very well....) Tomas did what he had to. It the LP I'm worried about though.... Ponsero should have done better as well. That was a real disappointment for me. But it's going to get very interesting for the LP now. I am going to be so behind with everything the coming days... I haven't had a chance to watch Pairs finals. Nor OD. And I won't get any time for it tomorrow either. And I'll be working all saturday and sunday. I need to sleep as well you know... Going to be though keeping up with you. But Iäll drop by as I look through everything. Edit: Glanced through the Pairs final. Congrats to S/S. Tjis year you truly deserved it. Wonderful! And I am especially glad that my personal favourites K/S got the bronze. Missed on half of Z/Z origram due to some technical problem, but it looked great what I saw. So congratualtions to the medalists! | |

| The OD is done. Belbin and Agosto won the OD and are now less than a point behind Domnina and Shabalin. Virtue and Moir had a rough outing and lost ground although they are still third. Davis and White are literally right behind them. Only 0.09 points out of third!!! I didn't get to watch any of it so I can't comment on performances. Still the FD is going to be very interesting! | |

| Im not so familar with the rules, but could it be, that Japan lost the 3rd spot now that Mura finished 15th? That would be very sad Im a little disappointed about the jap. skaters, they were so good before! I miss Dai-Chan so bad!! Hopefully the ladys will do better | |
