| Here's a very short clip of Dai talking about up coming Japan Open https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AiVMaS1VXg&feature=feeduHere's translation. " I have been making my utmost effort now. I am going to skate my free program for the first time this year in front of the audience. This year's free is a gamble for me. Because I have not skated this type of program for a long time. Interviewer," Do you mean it is a challenge for you?" Dai," No it is not a challenge, but a gamble. I am looking forward to see how my program will be received. Well, I am afraid of it.Please look forward to the people's reaction to this program. I really do know know what it will be like. But do not have high expectation." Interviewer," I can not help it." Dai" Have a high expectation for other three, not for me."(Laugh) " I will do my best so that I will not be a burden for other skaters." As always, Dai is so humble. All I know about his FS is ; It will be classic and it is choreographed by Camelengo. How can it go wrong? | |

| Hello Genki
Thank you very much for the link to the interview and the translation!!! Lovely to see Daisuke :-) Somehow, he seems to be like a little boy in this video ... a little shy somehow ... but cute as always :-)
I cannot imagine why it should go wrong as I think very highly of Camerlengo and Daisuke. They worked so well together before, why should it go wrong this time? I cannot imagine it to be a "boring" performance since Daisuke is skating it. Perhaps he really is a bit worried about the audience's anticipation ... it must be something totally different from the programmes before, otherwise he would not speak this way. Right? Interesting indeed ...
Cheers Gudrun. | |

| Thank you for that video link, Genki I kind of love Daisuke's boy-next-door hair, for a change The intrigue is building. Daisuke's skated quite a few programs to classic music before. I just hope it's not an overused piece. | |

| Genki: I cannot say thank you enough for the link but also for translating! I love listening to Dai talk but it's so frustrating not being able to understand what he is saying! Hmm... a type of program he hasn't skated 'in a long time'. A violin or piano concerto? I'm not sure how that is really a gamble because it seems everyone skates to that nowadays. Though maybe people will see that as a gamble for him because they are expecting something flashier? I don't know. Maybe it's from a musical? He's done West Side Story and Phantom of the Opera. La Strada was acting out a character too and that was recent, so I don't know... As long as it's not Sabre Dance I think we're safe! | |

| Thank you for the video, Genki! I saw Akko's FP in FOI in August and it was an absolutely brilliant program, "Die Fiedermaus Overture" choreographed by Pasquale!!! I think that type of music, bright in a major key, is very new to him. Yes, I can't wait two more days! Probably tomorrow night TV will air the practice of Japan Open, so we could find a hint of his FP in it. | |

| Hi Miyu: I envy you, because you can watch it on TV on Sunday. I may try key-hole tv, but I am not sure that I will be able to be awake around 3am n the morning! BTW, here's Akoko's part of FS and Short. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnPvg_s4NeI&feature=colikeAs you said FS by Pasquale is absolutely beautiful. | |

| Hi there
It is beginning to get really exciting :-) Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch the Japan Open since I live in Germany :-( As Genki I will wait for something coming up on youtube. And since I won't have the opportunity to use a computer until next Thursday (I'll be visiting friends in Latvia), I will almost die of excitement :-( :-) Please report as much as possible about this event so that we don't feel like missing out - thank you :-)))
And Daisuke: You can do it!!!

| Gudrun, sorry to hear you won't have internet access! And Genki, why does Japan have to be so far away & in such a different time zone?? I feel you there!! It is on from 6am to 8am my time.... I haven't decided if I'm going to get up and try to watch it on keyhole or just wait for you tube videos. | |

| Hmm, the broadcast time is very reasonable for my time zone, but I know how key hole tv is, it's pretty much like watching something though a key hole I don't know what to do, I'm so curious about Daisuke's new long, but at the same time I want some viewing quality, too. Have a nice debut, Daisuke! | |

| Miyu: That"s Usova/Zulin!! They are great too, though. Here's Dai's practice video. So it is not classic, sounds like a pop-guitar to me. https://youtu.be/Y6Dh1vBfj3oOne more https://youtu.be/5p4NYI_XW4YHe said " My jumping is getting better. I would like to do my best. Also I do not want to be a trouble to other skaters too." Twistsister. I do not live in Japan, but west coast USA. | |

| Guys:
I found a twitter that reported Japan open. Sorry guys it is all in Japanese.
Dai's score 53.15+78.64 4t DG 3t which is a part of 3F+3T,3lz, 3f were UR. Too bad. But it is still very early in the season,so I do not worry about it too much.
Chan won with 3 falls again. I am sick of it. And his PCS score is about 6 points higher than Dai.Common, judge, where are your eyes?

| Here is the protocol. http://www.skatingjapan.jp/InterNational/2011-2012/jo/data0105.pdfI don't worry at all! As you know, Dai-chan could resume jump practice back to normal only since September. It's only a month! He is also famous as a slow starter, basically. And you see, he gets CCSp4!!, FCCoSp3 and CCoSp4. Great job, Dai-chan! - Genki wrote:

Common, Genki! The judges just couldn't give the same PCS as Patrick to a skater who only got 53.15 in TES. (I have to get my work finished ASAP!! )

| Guys, thank you so much for all the info miyu, thank you for the protocol. I see Daisuke under rotated a number of jumps, and popped his second 3A. It's the fist time he skated his new FS in front of the audience, and it's only October. The marks are useful in the sense that they show where Daisuke stands compared to some of his competition (all the guys except for Jeffrey Buttle, are his rivals in the upcoming season), and what Daisuke needs to work on (landing the quad (toe), stamina). Like miyu, I'm glad to see levels 3 and 4 he got for his spins and steps. And now I'm looking forward to watch the video of his skate. | |

| http://www.skatingjapan.jp/InterNational/2011-2012/jo/data0105.htmmiyu, please forgive me for but I couldn`t stand for comparison Patrick vs Dai. I hate to see this protocol. Though Patrick`s PCS is impressive - to deserve 8.07 for PE, 8.57 for CH, 8.5 for Int. with three falls. Back to Dai`s LP. I don`t like this music much - my first impression. I was waiting for some tender & calm music. | |

| It was amazing Patrick can still win by miles with 3 falls - yet, his skating skill is really good and he can get tons of GOEs on other elements that can cover those falls. Still, amazing his falls don't affect his PCS as much. If Patrick improves over the season, no one can beat him unless he falls 3 more times...
Now Daisuke's program was good, has a feel of something new. I don't know if I like it or not YET, but I see he's trying to connect with the music still. It definitely needs some work technically, maybe it will come in time... I hope his technical side of the program will get back in top shape again. I would love to see a clean 3-3 combination, a 3-jump combination, a quad, two 3-axel, like he used to be able to nail easily. We haven't seen strong technical scores from him for a long time now. Once he gets jumps more stabilized, his scores will be much stronger.

| Thank you for the information, all. Look at his smile! Don't worry, it's just biginning of this season. I love blues and hope he gets something from it. http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/headlines/images/20111001/20111001-00000031-spnavi-spo.htmlDaiuske said after JO, "Before this season has began, I spent a different way that I've never had before at off-season. And I was expecting for my results a lot, but the same time I was not sure how it did works for me. Overall, my results were not good more than I was expected and I need to work on jumps, spins and steps more and more. I could not show my performance this time, however, I have to practice step by step for the next competitions." I agree, hsuhs, Daisuke needs to work on jumps and stamina. Yes, I'm glad to see levels3 and 4 for his spins and steps, too. Ganbare!! Daisuke!! _________________ GO DAISUKE!!

| Just a quick note. Dai-chan's new FP is fabulous!! Very cool, adult, beautiful, chic, exquisite and everything!! (Sorry my vocabulary is too limited so I don't know what to say! ) I already fall in love with this blues programe which has very intense and complex transitions and prefer it to Piazzolla. Many thanks to Pasquale for giving him such a wonderful program again!! I hope you guys can see it very soon.. - Lil wrote:
