Here is 5 O'clock News aired today by NHK (the first part "4 O'clock" is in general News topic)

Tv caster Chris Matsumura went to a ice rink to interview Dai about.... I don't know what but they are talking about figure skating and dance. They also show some moments from LA reharsal. Dai is lifted as a prima ballerina from all male dancers. A portrait of male love? Whatever this number is meant to represent, Dai moves are not at all femenine, on the contrary he is quite powerful and masculine.

It was previously announced that Cheryl is going to take part as guest at DWTS on May 15th with an anticipation from LOTF 2017 (if I remember right, she will dance with Jaymz Tuaileva)

Now, the Orlando Sentinel in an article about DWTS writes amazing news (IF true)

To fill the two hours, the show [DTWS] will feature two-time champ Cheryl Burke for a performance from her 30-city tour “Love on the Floor.” The live dance show starts Oct. 17 in Palm Desert, Calif.

It seems strange that this newspaper has information never issued before. Maybe some "spy" - it's possible that LOTF 2017 production wants to make the news public later, just before or after Japanese debut.

I have heard some rumors about LOTF touring in the US but nothing concrete and
nothing about Dai being part of that tour. Not sure how popular the tour would be in the US
they would have to get big names to attract an audience which is not a problem
in Japan because Dai is a superstar.

My intuition says that Dai will not do a tour outside of Japan. Touring is a huge commitment
and I just don't see Dai doing it. I could be wrong, we will have to wait and see.

For those in North America Cheryl Burke will be on Dancing With The Stars on Monday May 15 performing with the cast from LOTF.  Hopefully we will also see Kristi, Charlie and Meryl.

I agree Shyla.  I'm sure that Dai has other commitments as a newscaster so it's unlikely his schedule will be free for the tour.

I'm wondering how Cheryl plans to handle the tour because she has also signed on to do the dance reality show "Dance Moms".  I will refrain from commenting on her new task.

Yes, of course, you and Shyla are right about LOTF 2017 US tour. I was thinking about it after posting.  30-cities tour means being super-busy for 45 days as minimum starting from mid-October.... and Dai has other commitments and very likely his Christmas On Ice show, which is already a consolidated winter show.

Of course not!!   At the beginning of reharsal (about 04:30) Dai's socks are perfect and it's just the result of a long day of intense practice. Poor feet - they must be tired.

Looking at video, I feel even more proud of his achievements.

Last February, in the exclusive interview to Italian website Art On Ice Dai said

Although lacking regular dance lessons/practice since last year, he is immeditately "in", feeling the rythm and expressing himself with usual artistry. And moving his hips and pelvis quite illegally!!!

Now I know (from his interviews) that he doesn't count beats but he is just following his musical instinct.  What a man!!! What an artist!!

I've read a couple of articles in US on-line newspapers, which probably rely on info by LOTF production. They underline how the show premiered in Japan in 2016 with 10 shows and it was all sold out. Unfortunately they completely skipped Dai's name!!

Of course, I'm not saying Cheryl and the rest of cast are not worth seeing and indeed I think the show was great!!  but we know well that main reason of sold-out shows was Dai-chan.

Of course, I'm well aware that Daisuke is unknown in the US to dance-fans, while Meryl and Charlie are stars because of their appearance in DWTS. But I really don't like the way they "cancelled" him and not recognized his huge contribution to the success of the show in Japan, last year and this year also.

Pattina I have been reading the articles too and Meryl and Charlie fans are so excited about the tour. They are doing the whole tour 30 cities. I know that the skating tours are not well attended in the US. Even with the popularity of Meryl and Charlie there are a lot of empty seats in the arena.

I just hope that the tour is successful because it is a good show, I just feel that Cheryl's team should not think that the sold out success in Japan will be the same in the US. We know that it was
Dai's star power that made that happen in Japan. That said I wish the tour the best of luck and success.

Hi Shyla and Pattina!  I'm still here.  I want to thank you both for your dedication to this forum.  Rain or shine we can always count on the two of you to keep it alive.

I agree with you, Pattina, about the production team not giving Dai his props for making the original LOTF shows so successful.  I have a feeling they're focusing on selling tickets for the US tour so have made it all about the Americans in the cast.  It shouldn't be that way considering Dai was the reason it was sold out in Japan but I suppose it is, what it is.

Shyla I agree with you about Cheryl's team assuming this year's US tour will be sold out.  That's interesting that the ice shows in the US aren't as successful as the shows in Japan.  The tour won't be the same without Dai but I also wish them great success.  On a sidetone, Cheryl will need this tour to be great considering what she will be dealing with on "Dance Moms".
