| Wooo Hoo Dai holds on to 4th. He should have been in 3rd if they gave him higher components. But he should be happy I know I am.
Poor Machida.

| I guess the condition of his knee is worse than we expected. In the interview after SP, he looked pale and lacking in energy. If so, it's so sad. I don't mean I'm sad about his performance. I'm sad about the destiny. His spins and step are all level4. Well done, Dai-chan!! Ganbare Dai-chan!!! | |

| Daisuke was the most beautiful skater on the ice. I'm glad he did his best! Strangely I was almost calm before the skater. | |

I agree with you on "Daisuke was the most beautiful skater on the ice", MaiKitty. So true. We are lucky to have a chance to see it. I hope he can enjoy his skating tonight. Enjoy your last performance in the Olympics, Dai-chan!! You don't need to feel pressed. Just enjoy!!! We love you!!!! Here is his comment after SP. http://sochi.headlines.yahoo.co.jp/sochi/hl?a=20140214-00000000-spnavi-spoI won't give up until the competition is over. I want to deliver my best peformance tomorrow, it's not all about jumps. I got so tensed toady. Honestly speaking, I was surprised still I'm in the 4th place. He was also asked how his condition is comparing it in the JN. He answered that he has spent time under tougher condition than JN. (I don't know how it was toguher as he didn't explain.)

And what exactly does it mean "destiny"? No, it has the rather clear name- JSF . Media has been trying to twist the information in order to pull the fandom's anger from JSF, constantly saying about his injury, GPF and JN. But they can't fool anyone. His condition is not related to shinbone. It's his knee, which is chronical, and it was getting worse and worse during the last two seasons. We all know why: he was everywhere, in all events, used by JSF and TV as milch cow. While the fragile boy repeatedly got 'sick days' to rest and recover. No one can know now what would have happened if JSF at least split the work duties between those two. They got the younger one treasured in order to be promoted at Dai's expense. It didn't work, as the crowd's reaction at JN once again proved. But yes, the OM is still there. As for me, I don't care now who will win. Because that is the case when I don't want to choose the lesser evil. In general the SP was rather dull. Seems like Plu's withdrawal confused some brains, almost everyone made mistakes. Dai and Ten were not just the only ones with level 4 for everything. They also had the best progs and performance, which wasn't reflected in the score though. Oh, and Happy Valentine, Dai-chan! http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Winter+Olympics+Figure+Skating+z3zHTrKMp5Hl.jpg

| Finally I could watch it again, as it was broadcasted here. What a performance! Finally I can cry. So much beauty, so much struggle... Never awarded enough. But whatever. This performance will stay with us forever. - miyu wrote:

| Hi let’s talk. - let's talk wrote:

I mean the timing of the injury and other environmental issues. I partially agree with you. Yes, the fundamental problem is probably his knee. He definitely didn’t have to participate in WTT and it worsened his knee. But I think he wanted it because he didn’t want to miss Kobe charity which he is one of the originators of the event. So, I used the word “destiny” When a person becomes one of top members of a certain society, he has to do additional tasks other than his basic job. So I can understand Dai-chan has to take more responsibilities off the ice than any other skaters in Japan. Probably when Yuzuru becomes older, he will has to do like Dai-chan. I think the problem is that JSF and the media don’t value or report properly what Dai-chan has done for Japanese figure skating society. For example, it’s Rinkai Ice Rink which saved from the threat of closure by tremendous efforts of Dai-chan, other skaters and people using the facility. We, as core fans, know well Dai-chan played a key role throughout the rescue movements but it hasn’t been reported positively. But interestingly from yesterday, some news came out. First, the leader of the rescue movements said on TV, “Without Dai-chan’s efforts, the ice rink couldn’t be saved.” Yes, it was him who brought out the 50/50 condition (the center and the city bore the cost of repair 50/50) from the mayor. Another article came out as well. It said that Dai-chan met secretly the anonymous donator, who happened to know the situation through their movements, to ask for help. The donator donated 130 million yen after he/she met Da-chan. Still it’s not reported widely his charity actions like Kobe charity. As for Plushenko, Russian people know his greatness well. Some people might say you can’t talk about Plushenko and Dai-chan in the same way as the one is an OGM, though. You saw a lot of empty seats in Sochi yesterday. How about if it was in Japan? Even a few years ago, there were a lot of empty seats in men’s events in Japan. Who led the men's figure skating these years in Japan? (Of course, along with Nobu, Taka and others.) OK, I have to stop it now!! Sorry.

| Thank you all for info and links and for sharing! I was watching event on tv, unfortunately my internet connection stopped just before Yuzu's performance (and restored just this morning) so I could not share with you those great moments. I was moved to tears by Dai's performance. He did his best in his present conditions and his Sonatina was amazing and emotionally tenser that any other program. Really Yesterday Dai was the most....I do not know how to explain...just the most!!! miyu, thank you for sharing and for so much info on Rinkai rink. Yes we know and I am surprised to read that before news was not so widely spread among media. But we also know that Dai-chan acts not to be "famous" but out of his heart. That's one of the many, many reasons why I love him. Dai-chan, enjoy today's skate!! You have reached your goal and poured your soul and heart on ice. Enjoy any moment and any cheer of support!! You are - and always will be - The One and The Only!! I love you so much Ganbare Dai-chan!! You can do it, so DO IT!! | |

Many people, journalists and fans, twitted that arena got deserted soon after Plu's withdrawal. By the last warmups it looked so scary empty that volunteers offered people from the upper-bwol to move to a lower bowl. On the day of LP many fans were selling 12k tickets for 5k or lower. That is the consequence of Plu's withdrawal in Russia. If Dai didn't compete/skate in Japan, many simply wouldn't show up/buy tickets in the first place.

Me! BTW, did you read the internet article by Number yesterday? I'm so frustrated again.... I've got tired of this. Hate JSF.
