Dai-chan will appear on TV program "Pussuma" (ぷっすま) on 29th (19:00-) with Mao, Miki and Yukari.


At the same day the criteria for selection for 2009 Worlds was announced by JSF. Top two at Japanese National Champs will be automatically sent to Worlds. And the third competitor will be selected by JSF considering the results of this season.

According to recent interview of Japanese Figure Skating magazine, Daisuke said that he wanted to perform "Bolero" for short program at first. Wow, I wish I could see it.

I guess it's good Daisuke didn't stick with 'Bolero'. When it comes to Spanish-themed music, guys like Stephane and Evan are the kings.

I think Leode meant to say Dai-chan thought about "Bolero" but he chose "eye". So Kenji didn't choreograph "Bolero" for him. Actually Kenji did it for Miki afterwards. Her EX "Bolero" is wonderful.



In the same article Dai-chan talked about 3Lo.

Q: I saw you did 3Lo as the second jump in 3A combo friequently in recent shows.
A: That was just a prctice. When I jump loop as the second jump I have to land the first with certainty. By doing that the landing will be improved. If I can do a second loop, it means I can do a second toe loop easily. I practice combos with loop for that purpose.


And I found these two skaters refering to Dai-chan in the magazine. They might have said so becuase they were interviewd by the Japanese magazine but anyway I was glad to read their comments.

Evan Lysacek:
Q: Did you see Takahashi-senshu's SP at Friends on Ice?
A: Cool. That's very nice. ..... Last year's SP was cool too. A person who challenges to do new things is very cool.

About himself he said

"I have kept the same style from Trino Olympic to last season. So I thought I had to rebuild myself by changing choreographys and trainings before next Olympics. In this sport the growth by changes is very important."

Very smart comment. I'm looking forward to seeing new Evan very much this year. (Maybe second after Dai-chan!)

A: I think nobody is as great as Plushenko. But in this competition (08 Worlds) Daisuke Takahashi has the best total ability. This time he wasn't perfect in jumps but his steps and skating are great. Considering only techniques Brian is No.1."

I translated some of what Dai-chan said. (Sorry again for my poor translation... )

D: "Be myself." (showing the paper board.)
Of course I'm thinking to win competitions but I place greater importance on how I want to perform and my strong intention that I want to exhibit myself through the programs this season. So I chose the words "Be myself".
Q: You changed your coach. It change yourself too, doesn't it?
D: Yes, that's right. The CHOREOGRAPHER has changed and I think the programs are diffierent from before. I'd like to show a new aspect of myself and in my spirit I'd like to value such things as well as the ranks.

Shizuka: I'd like to ask you why you decided to change your choreographer and also what kind of character you want to show in the program as you said "be myself".
D: Concerning the choreographer, there happened a lot of things. But I thought it was important to move on to next stage and decided it as a new challenge. My new programs brought things out of me like supple movements and the movements which I couldn't do before as the result of the choreographer change. I prepare one new FP which is something I've never done before. I hope I can exhibit myself totally new.
S: As a athelete, a person seek changes. I suppose this decision was the consequence he sought a change in order to make more progress even though the programs he have done so far were wonderful. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of Takahashi-senshu will appear.

You can see Dai-chan's FP is described as "Ocean Waves". However I think it's because Dai-chan haven't revealed the other one.
