| I found this article about Joubert. Brian talks about his illness and the programs for national championship. The article is in french. I try to transalte Brian's interview. http://actualite.aol.fr/sport/championnats-de-france-de-patinage-joubert-et-delobel-schoenfelder-pour-un-6e-titre/1736711/p-article_cat/article_titre/article_id/article.html"It's good for me start to compete again. First trainings were ok, even if I was a bit contracted because it's an ice rink I don't know yet. Ice quality is similiar to Poitiers and the rink is bigger." "Alban (Praubert) and Yannik (Ponsero) want the gold. I'm going to concentrate on my job. I wasn't sure I could come here after my illness, caused by a virus surely catched before Skate Canada. But now I have a correct blood pressure and cardiac rythm, and also my techinc is ok. I will do a quad in SP and I want try to do two quads in FP, 4T and 4S" (he said "Salchow et Boucle Piqué" that I think is a T). I'm curious to see Brian's condition... | |

| Thanks you, glorydave!! So he will be able to skate at French National. That's good. I hope he is back in enoughly good shape now!! Will he need to win 1st or 2nd to go to World??? Some countries decide representatives only by the result of National Championships. I'm not a fan of Joubert but I realize now how I miss him at GPF.... So I really want to see him at World Championships. | |

It still is the best result, nothing has changed: http://www.isufs.org/isujsstat/pbsmsp.htmFortunately, ISU doesn't take national championships results serious

Fortunately, ISU doesn't take national championships results serious Yes, it has to be in international competition for it to count for the ISU. I think Johnny Weir has gotten a higher score in his short program than his personal best, but it was at a US National championship.

| Thanks for the information, glorydave. OMG! I heard that Brian did 4T-3T, 3A and 3Lz clean. I know that National's score always are pretty inflated like Shatterpoint and miyu wrote, but I admire him for his passion in quads. Sorry, I cannot find his SP's vid at youture so far, but bellow one is his practice before Nationals. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=PxF5Z2akAhQ _________________ GO DAISUKE!!

| Thanks for the French Nationals information and pics glorydave and Leode. This is Brian's LP link- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYhJAasMN4gIt's really great to see Brian back skating and competing. His performance in the LP was very strong. He had great speed, power, and fast spins. He was unable to successfully do two quads, but this proves that this is definitely not easy for anyone. He looked more tired than usual at the end of the program which is a sure sign that he is still in recovery. I have not watched Yannick or Alban's performances yet. | |

| -Brian lost weight, he didn't recovered completely, had light training, -the national championship was in nice ski station in the French Alps, the altitude makes people suffering for leak of oxygen, and that affects performences - Brian's short program was very strong, and the long program , because his illness, was more difficult to do and not perfect. Seemed exhausted at the end. - Yannick Ponsero realized also a very strong short program and his free program was nearly perfect: powerful jumps, beautiful spins, and nice choreography, so it was a lot of pressure on Brian - Alban struggled a lot with his jumps. | |

| Hi anne-marie! Welcome on DTFF! Thanks for the link to Yannick's FP. Thanks Leode for results and UMgal for the link! I'm happy to see Brian skating again. Even if he isn't in perfect form, because of the illness, maybe he felt good yesterday for trying both 4T and 4S. Now, I'm very curious to see wath Daisuke will do in Torino. I can't wait! Brian can be a strong rival in jumps, but I think there's no comparison between Brian and Daisuke's step! Especially in circular sequence he was a bit slow IMO... GO DAISUKE!!! | |
