| I think Daisuke could start working with people who know how to improve his PCS (because those judges aren't going anywhere). - Shyla wrote:

| Thanks to all of you for a wonderful site for an extrodinary skater...All of you are just great! I do have something to add about Blues For Klook and the fantastic collaboration between Daisuke and Pasquale. I am a westerner and probably do not comprehend the truest meaning of this Japanese word. However, as a westerner the word "Shibui" comes to my mind while being mesmerized each time I watch Blues. Elegant simplicity, understated excellence, balancing simplicity with complexity, etc.
Daisuke and Pasquale did not rely on flashy costumes and dramatic music to present technical prowess and sublime artisty. It has been stated that the western culture has a difficult time understanding the subleties of the Japanese culture. However, I do believe the combined extraordinary talents of Pasquale and Daisuke proved this to be a myth. It has been proven over and over again that audiences from all over the world gave thunderous ovations, it garnered awe from figure skating experts (judges not included!) and an unparalleled respect from fellow skaters as demonstrated after his free skate at Worlds Team Trophy.
To quote Jackie Wong from the Examiner: "But for me, Takahashi’s free skate was, as an overall construction and as a piece of skating, the stronger statement – from its seamless choreography to Takahashi’s interpretation of the music to the rhythm and pacing of the program.
This program just felt like one entire step sequence that just happened to have jumps in between for four and a half minutes. He explored the intricacies when music called for it, and he held out his positions when it mattered. Not one millisecond wasted. This music needs to be retired, because no one is ever going to be able to top this. Sit back and enjoy Daisuke Takahashi’s masterpiece."
For me I want to see the Daisuke/Pasquale relationship continue. Daisuke as the amazing skater he truly is allows Pasquale to expand his creativity without conditions and Pasquale in turn allows for Daisuke's technical goals and his artistic hunger to grow and expand without compromising one for the other. As Daisuke makes his decisions for next season, I hope I can once again look forward to seeing what direction these two will take to create yet another masterpiece which "will need to be retired because no one is ever going to be able to top this." !!!

- hsuhs, Sweat is censored version of Wet (Snoop's). There words are much daring.
The remix version Daisuke's supposedly using for his EX, is almost innocent though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnEXrbAQyIoYou'd think the song's all about workouts and gyms. No dripping mommies there.

- Excuse me for being too talkative today, but do you remember when ISU announced GPS last year?
I've read new season will be that order: SA SC CoC CoR TEB NHK GPF
GP assignments were announced last year on June 27. The ISU Congress and ISU Council are meeting in Kuala Lumpur in June (June 10-17), so assignments will most likely be announced in June.

| I agree wholeheartedly with Samby: Dai and Pasquale are a match made in heaven, and I would like to see them continuing working together. Having said that, I trust Daisuke will make the right choice as he has done these past years, so I'll be happy with his decision. | |

Thank you samby for your thought and great way to put it! Though I'm happy with any decision Dai will make, your statement is so convincing and moved me so much. A big thumbs up (or a hug if you don't mind )!! The new EX, the same one, just a slow motion added. ↓ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOQNPdkX_ik&feature=related And slightly longer/different one? ↓ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLS7SLWX5xk&feature=relmfuCan't wait to see the whole thing!!!

| Thank you Twind for the links. I don't know why it is taking so long for Dai's video to get up on youtube. Usually we don't have to wait this long. I am impatient too. lol | |

| Since there is a thread for PIW 2012 in the Gala section, can we keep the discussion about it there, together with news, videos and pics? Thanks! | |

| I'll start with Pagliacci. I don't know how many times I've already watched it. Everyday it comes a moment when I feel a longing for Dai-Pagliaccio and I just have to watch him again! The things I love in the program: -The spins. He actually performs with his spins! With all that drama, the most heartbreaking moment for me is when he puts his head in his hands in the final spin. -The jumps. The way the jumps, and all the moves, before and after them, are done to the music. They are used wonderfully to create the atmosphere. -The final drama. There is not a thing I don't like (even the costume doesn't bother me) I only have some wishes... ... I just wish there was more of the "Ridi, Pagliaccio", I mean, more of the sad, heartbroken clown trying to perform his role. "You are a clown! Put on your costume, powder your face... Laugh, clown, at your broken love!" I think Ilia Kulik did a great job interpreting "Vesti la giubba": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cmh82FBN4AOf course it was different era, different kind of competition and he had just one aria to interpret, so it was easier. In the CoP era you have to be busy all the time, collecting points. Still there are moments in Dai's program (for example 3:15-3:30, 2:20-2:36) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OaSn8Vb5To) when I wish he could just stop and give us more of the sad Pagliaccio. I would like to see some dilemma before the final drama... Just my opinion. By the way, have you seen Luciano Pavarotti: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUe2OnXIBEg(Translation: http://operainenglish.blogspot.com/2011/08/no-pagliaccio-non-son-pagliacci.html)The final seconds, and Dai's final pose... | |
