| Do you have any music for Daisuke's program?I'd like to see Daisuke's performance using bellow tunes. 1)Short Program "Polovtsian Dance" by BorodinI can imagine his step at this tune. 2)Free Program "Romeo & Juliet" by P. I. TchaikovskiThis tune has already used by Shizuka Arakawa, however, Daisuke can act both part as Romeo and Juliet. I think that Tchaikovski fits Daisuke's skating perfectly, so hope to see Tchaikovski series again. By the way, Stéphane Lambiel's new exhibition program is“Un giorno per noi” from the film “Romeo and Juliet" by Nino Rota. 3)Exhibition "Moving" by Secret GardenThis Irish beatutiful tune is very dramatical for matching his straight-line sequence particularly. Yoshie Onda has performed once. Songs"You're Beautiful" by James Blunthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y7WDWP8WMs"Against All Odds" by Phil Collinshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZSJizbKKSQ"Fragile" by Stinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SsNAMmClm8(Daisuke performed Sting's "Desert Rose". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjHkj-uSt_Y)"Dani California" by Red Hot Chili Peppershttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kID5W9k-Zw

| I think that Dai needs music with character for his competitive programs. So I'm sorry if this brings back bad memories, but I'd love to see him give another try to the Concierto de Aranjuez - I think he could do a masterpiece with it... Or maybe another Spanish piece would work too. For an exhibition, I'd love to see him skate to "être à la hauteur" (from the French musical "le Roi Soleil") because it's somewhat the story of his past season. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU5mOgxy8vQBut I highly doubt he'd ever pick a French song (especially since there's no big competition coming up in a French-speaking area). Is there any Japanese music he could use? | |

| Hi, MissC, I totally agree with you. He needs music with charactical and dramatical one. But Concierto de Aranjuez brings me back Takeshi Honda's performance. I don't know what story about this Le roi soleil(Etre à la hauteur), but this is very dramatical tune. If he has done this at show 2007 Stars Sur Glace in French, it should have been so nice.
About Japanese songs, this is very difficult to pick one now. If I remember one, I let you know.

| Thanks for the link, pastello! I like the song, but it's veeerrrrrry long!!! It would have to be cut somewhere, I guess... And Leode, "Le Roi Soleil" is about King Louis XIV. "Etre à la hauteur" is about someone who has to get up, every day, and do the same routine, every day, and know that he's being watched - and it's quite a burden. And then comes the time when he finally "rises and shines"!! | |

| Hi, Leode, Pastello, & MissC. I can imagine some Japanese pop music for his EX. "choo choo train" by EXILE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwmKyZPpR-YI'd love to see him dance. "Everything" by Misia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_8g8dR8q88It's a love song. They are a bit old, but I hope you will like both of them. The reason why I chose two different music is because I'd really like him to prepare at least two new programs for his EX this coming season. I'm sorry I have no idea for his LP & SP. | |

| I like "Owarinaki Tabi" and "Everything" (yay for Mr.Children and Misia!), but I wonder if Daisuke would ever do an exhibition to a Japanese song. It doesn't seem like Japanese skaters tend to use Japanese songs very often. Miki Ando used "I Believe" by Ayaka this year, but she had Ayaka record an English version for her to use. I think the only time she skated to it in Japanese was at the Worlds EX, when Ayaka sang live. I would love to see him use more Tchaikovsky music, though. Tchaikovsky was a genius at writing beautiful melodies, and I think a lot of his music suits Daisuke's style well. Rather than the warhorses that everyone's used already though, I'd like to see him use something a little more obscure. Tchaikovsky has tons of great music, and a lot of it has hardly (if ever) been used for skating. I think some segments from the second and third movements of the Manfred Symphony ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/classical/listen/tchaikovsky_manfred.shtml ) would be great for Daisuke. | |

| Morizo, thanks for the links! I wish more skaters would skate to songs from their own countries. For example, I loved Brian's exhibitions to French songs, but not so much those to songs in English. Also, at events in Russia, there's always 2-3 skaters who perform to Russian songs, and it was really nice to see Miki skate to "I believe" in Japanese at Worlds. Calliope, I'm totally for another Tchaikovsky program!! I think the 5th Symphony would be great too. I saw a ballet to that music in St-Petersbourg, they had great cuts and it was FABULOUS! http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/classical/listen/tchaikovsky_symphony5.shtml(I love the 4th movement, though better when played slightly faster). | |

| Hi, everyone, I've made simple montages about Daisuke for using my above mentioned favorite tunes "Moving" by Secret Garden and "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt. You can see that his each movements are extraordinarily beautiful whatever the music he uses. I posted them on other member's only topic. | |

| As a result, Daisuke's new Exhibition program is "Bachelorette" by Bjork. I watched her music video over and over again. And I will buy her best hits in this week. Daisuke's performatnce and her music turned me on. "Bachelorette" by Bjork https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5nNfbTS6N4By the way, I'm very looking forward to watching Daisuke's short and free program, too. I think, maybe, he will also supprise us and come up to our expectations. | |

| Hello, everybody I was at my friend's house yesterday and I heard a really beautiful song, Ben Harper "Morning Yearning" When I heard this song, right away I felt I want Daisuke to skate to it for his EX program someday!!!! This music is sooooo touching, so with Daisuke's artistic skating, it will be a amazing program, I think...... Here is the song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqbcV39Sq1o | |

| Hi, nipponophile, welcome to DTFF! Thanks for the comment. Which program do you like SP "Swan Lake" or FS "Romeo and Juliet". Daisuke mentioned that he'd like to challenge the new programs every year. So I think it is not possible to keep for the Vancouver Olympics. | |

| Welcome nipponophile! I saw Daisuke's incredible NHK performances on television (not the internet) for the first time on Sunday too (on ESPN). I noticed that since working with Morosov, Daisuke has not reused any of his programs so far. I think this is a good decision because each new program that he has done so far has been pretty special and refreshing. Hopefully for Vancouver Daisuke/Morosov will continue to bring out more brilliant programs/performances for all of us! Since this is the "Music For Program" thread I will post my music choice for Daisuke here. This information was from another post of mine from earlier. - Quote :
- My wish is that he would skate to "Polovetsian Dances" by Aleksandr Borodin which is the same music used by the ice dance teams of Domnina/Shabalin and Davis/White last year. I think that Daisuke could really be expressive with this dramatic music.
This before or for Vancouver?

| Welcome nipponophile!!! When I see big skaters presenting the same program in different season, I'm always a bit disappointed... even if it is a great program... for example Joubert's James Bond... - Quote :

I'm so confident of this!

| Glorydave, here is the answer for this that I found on another forum. - Quote :
- His ISU bio says "modern arrangement by various composers", so I don't think you will find the exact piece. I could be wrong, but I think they (Morozov) had this specially cut & mixed - I know that the hip-hop beats pull music from other hip-hop pieces that have nothing to do with Swan Lake - you can find those sections if you listen carefully to the music.
It seems that there is no definitive answer to this question. Probably only Morosov and Daisuke know the real answer to this. And hsuhs, the video was indeed very entertaining and interesting. The "Swan Lake" song in this video is also quite similar to Daisuke's version.

Is there somebody who knows the name of the composer that arranged Daisuke's hip hop Swan Lake? Thank you! I think I've got the right source - the following is from the 2007 NHK Trophy website: http://www.skatingjapan.jp/Jsf/News/2007NHKMen.pdfIt says 'modern arrangement by Alec Golstein' but I think it shoud be Alexander Goldstein. You can see his bio here: http://abgworldllc.com/bio.htmHe's been close to Morozov so I think he must be the one who arranged THAT Swan Lake! Sorry if this is wrong!

How interesting, joyuk. I mean, the info about Mr. Goldstein. I had a feeling I'd heard that name before and visited that site in the past.
And, yes, it seems to be the same guy who's mentioned on Johnny Weir's official site as a 'music technician'.
