| Daisuke's participation in Friends On Ice 2010 has been confirmed! http://www.friendsonice.com/8/27-8/29 Yokohama, Japan Is anyone here planning to go? I won a ticket through the lottery on fskating.net, but the only payment method accepted is bank account transfer, and I'm not sure how that works. Do you need to have a Japanese bank account in order to do it? Because I don't have one... Or can I just go to a bank, give them cash, and tell them to put it into the designated account? I'll be so sad if I have to give up this ticket because I can't pay for it! | |

| Hi Calliope
Try City bank. I guess they have some special product for foreigners. But maybe it is easier to ask your Japanese friend to do it for you.
Dai may skate new short by Stephan too right?

| Thank you for the information, Calliope! You are in Japan, right? Then I think you can do bank transfer at any Japanese bank (and maybe some convenient stores). Probably you can do it by ATM. Please try. | |

| I didn't read the actual article but according to some bloggers, Dai-chan is going to choreograph a group performance in FOI. Thank you to the bloggers for quick imformation!!! Shizuka talked about this year's FOI on Nikkei Shinbun this morning. And this!! "I'd like as many people as possible to have a chance. So I change choreographer every year. I asked Daisuke Takahashi for one of group performances for the first time. I don't know about the detail but I heard second hand he was going to do hip hop ." Wheeee!!! I can't wait for a month!!

This is the latest article about Dai-chan and Stephane, but there is no new information, just "Authentic classical music. It was the music Lambiel once tried to skate to, but it didn't work well and he gave it up." So what's the music? Peer Gynt? Can we call Peer Gynt an authentic classical music? The article also said it was Stephane who proposed an offer initially. Stephane said Dai-chan has been his favorite skater and his upper body movements were fabulous. He was super excited when he heard from Dai-chan that he would come to Switzerland. - Genki wrote:

Yah, I like it. (Honestly speaking, I prefer the beatles SP to this.) At this moment it looks he is trying to be a flamenco dancer, but his effort is great. As the season goes on, I'm sure it will become a wonderful SP. I miss his complex transitions a little, though....

| I never heard/read before that Dai was Stephane`s favourite skater. May be he said it because it was japanese interviewer? | |

At least I have read once Stephane said so. But it's likely he said so because he was interviewed by Japanese magazine at that time, too . Brian referred to Dai-chan's name in this article. http://absoluteskating.com/interviews/2010joubert.html - Quote :
- I want to change my practice routine. Practicing in Poitiers is great. It’s my town and I need it, but I work alone there and I practice with kids. To keep motivated, I have to think about Daisuke Takahashi or other skaters.

| Oh thank you, miyu! So he considers Dai as his main rival. ^ ^ Brian`s respect for Dai has such a great meaning for me! Because Brian is a fighter and presents strong & athletic style. I remember the article in season 2007-2008 where Brian said that only he himself, Stephane & Dai can aim for the podium! | |

| So there's going to be a rehearsal for FOI held on Thursday the 26th that's open to the public for viewing. You had to enter a lottery to get tickets, and I won one! I'm so excited! | |

| I got a ticket to this afternoon's public practice. It's my first time to attend a public practice so I'm very excited, but not quite sure what to expect either. I'm hoping I can get a good view of Daisuke and maybe some photos. Maybe there is a chance for meeting/autograph? I don't know but I'm sure the whole thing will be great! | |

| Wow...Daisuke's new SP is hot, hot, HOT!! I thought "Eye" was sultry but this one is the next level up! His dance moves in particular were very smooth and expressive. Can't wait to see it with the jumps on Saturday. Daisuke looked fabulous in his mambo costume - a brightly coloured shirt unbuttoned to half-way down, and black pants. The men's group piece produced by Daisuke is also pretty funky and the guys seemed to really enjoy skating it. No photos allowed in the venue, but Daisuke did very sweetly pose for one for me outside. He (very, very politely, and partly in English) declined my request to sign my special "Daisuke Daisuki" flag, however, saying that he wouldn't have enough time to sign for everybody, so to be fair, he wouldn't sign for just one person. I hope I can run into him randomly in the future so he is able to give me his autograph. | |

| Oh wow! You ran into Daisuke outside, nipponophile?? Guess I shouldn't have rushed out to the station so quickly! Anyway, I thought Daisuke's SP was AWESOME!! He didn't do any of the jumps or spins (except for the last spin -- the rest of the time he kind of just stood there and clapped instead), but he did do the step sequences, and everyone got really excited during them! He definitely had the biggest audience response, and everyone was having a great time. I don't know if the program is meant to be funny, but rather than hot, sexy, or whatever, I thought it was hilarious!! Everyone was laughing and clapping along. The program is just so fun it makes you want to get up and dance. I can't believe he's going to use it for competition! It's perfect as an exhibition, but I just can't imagine him doing it for the judges and with all the lights on. He said that he wants to show a different side of himself this season though, and I think he'll accomplish that -- this program is really different from anything he's done before. The men's hip hop number was great too! Daisuke was really into it and did a good job. Afterwards Shizuka interviewed him and said he could be a choreographer and plan a show in the future, and he was like "No no no no no! It was hard enough to do this one number, there's no way I can do a whole show!" There were a lot of other great moments from the rehearsal (not just limited to Daisuke) that I want to talk about now, but it's late now, so if I have time tomorrow I'll try to write a more detailed report. In the meantime, have some pictures and videos: Pictures: http://sankei.jp.msn.com/sports/other/100826/oth1008262300018-n1.htm (His new costume is just... ) http://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/sports/winter/news/20100826-OHT1T00284.htmhttp://www.yomiuri.co.jp/sports/news/20100826-OYT1T01004.htm?from=navlp (I don't think he's ever worn this on before?) | Hi Calliope: Thanks for the videos. Dai looks sexy and more adult like with a little beard. Are there any hip movements? Mambo should have hip movements, I wonder if he did some of them. For members Here's some sample of Men's latin dance wear. Any shirts you want Dai to wear? http://www.danceshoesonline.com/catalog/dancewear/men_latin_1.html | |

I will definitely laugh only if Dai-chan appears wearing that costume, because it's just very very full-flavored. (I don't know what to say!) Yes, I like it!!! - Genki wrote:

Well, I like Mens Latin Shirt XM001 (P1 black one with dots) or Mens Latin Shirt XM012 (P1 red one). The white one with a rose would be nice? According this article, Takahiko practiced the hip hop dance until midnight (probably with Dai-chan). I have to check his dance, too.
