| Men's Short Program Results: 1. Tomas Verner 81.00 2. Nobunari Oda 79.20 3. Adam Rippon 75.82 4. Sergei Voronov 72.80 5. Yannick Ponsero 72.50 6. Brian Joubert 72.15 7. Alban Preaubert 66.49 8. Ryan Bradley 65.21 9. Chao Yang 60.72 10. Javier Fernandez 60.56 11. Peter Liebers 60.31 12. Vaughn Chipeur 51.45
Tomas was amazing! I really hope he can hold it together for the long program. Adam was BRILLIANT! Nobunari was so dynamic. I only saw the last half of his program but there was some great drama in it. Brian had some jump problems and I thought it was kind of flat. I guess the judges didn't like Alban's return to theatrical programs because I was a little surprised that he scored as low as he did.

He jumped 4T-3T, 3A and 3Lz completely, but I think Sergei also jumped 4T-3T higher, but why he got low points??? I like Nobunari's SP a lot. It fits him. His combination jump were so beautiful. Poor Brian, he's jumps were not good at first competition. BTW, I can't help laughing when I saw "勇名トラ" banner for Tomas!!

| I too thought that Tomas was really good in SP. And 81.00 isn't that huge for an entertaining program with a clean 4+3.
But Tomas is known for his inconsistency.
If Nobunari plans to do a 4+3+3, more power to him! He has a good chance of landing that combo, imo (based on how he succeeded at the last worlds).
It's been a while since Brian won a teb.

| Thank you for the information, everyone! My favorites here are Brian, Tomas and Yannick. So one is great , one is so-so and one is . And I'm sorry for Voronov. He should have been placed higher, I suppose.... I'm eager to see the protocols. - Quote :

| Nobunari was great today! And that was without the quad. I think his program suits him perfectly. Adam Rippon was also quite impressive even though he missed his triple axels. It's a shame Tomas doubled some of his triples because he reeled off a great quad-triple at the start. Brian's got serious work to do. He'll probably have to win NHK to qualify for the Grand Prix Final but I think he might be willing to sacrifice that in order to rest up for the Olympics.
On the ladies side, I think Mao either has a confidence problem or her content is too ambitious. A triple axel in the short might not be the best idea especially since she's inconsistent with it. Yu-Na's appearing to be unstoppable.
