Men's brightest star of the series is Japan's Daisuke Takahashi, the 2007 World silver medalist and two Grand Prix finals and World Cup race for 2008 on Channel Four Finland. The Japanese are especially popular in their home country athlete, as evidenced by the other parties to the Japanese press and television stations to a huge amount. Takahito Mura withdraws from Finlandia Trophy

On October 4, JSF announced Takahito Mura will withdraw from Finlandia Trophy because of a pain on his lower back. He is now taking medical treatment at home.

I thought he was well prepared for FT with his new SP&LP (both choreographed by Kenji Miyamoto) , but he injuered himself when he performed
last week at Chubu regional. So sad

Takahashi "Want to appeal my comeback"

On Oct 7, Daisuke Takahashi of Men's figure skating daparted by plane from Kansai International Airport to compete at Finlandia Trophy which is
goint go be a comback game after his right-knee ACL injury.
Takahashi told in a tense look "I want to appeal I was restored up to here, in order to win competitions after this."
It's been one and a half year after Takahashi's last appearance at competition. He performed at a top skaters' ice show "Carnival on Ice" on Oct 3,
showed his good condition.
He places this comptition as the one for finding problems (to be solved).
"Nothing but anxiety. I will try a quad jump although I haven't suceeded yet in practice. It's important that I try it in competitions. "

Dai-chan landed a quad in the first public practice.
"Skating in the competition practice in a long while, I felt familiar nervousness. It wasn't successful but it surprised me because it was the second time for me to land a quad with one foot after the injury."
"The start is important. I'd like the result and performance of mine to push me forward."

He meant the quad which he landed with one foot, wasn't perfect, I think. Perhaps he stepped out or something like that.

Hi from Vantaa!!

I got to see Dai at practice yesterday and this morning, WOW!! It's so good to see him back on the ice! He looked quite relaxed, smiled a lot and did step out of the quad when he did it during the run-through of La Strada. He didn't do any choreography though, dammit!!! His other jumps look soooooooooo good though, the triple axel is waaaayyyy to easy!!

I talked to him briefly this morning, he said he was happy to be here and that he doesn't feel any pain in his knee anymore.

There are many Japanese journalists around, it's crazy! When I stepped into the rink yesterday, I thought I had just arrived in Japan!

Oh, and I forgot to say: Dai's hair looks great!!
