| Today, after Kansai University's Exhibition, Daisuke had an interview in front of a lot of fans. Following are summary of an interview with Daisuke after the exhibition on 14th, 2009 from some latest online news. "Since I've trained to skate on the ice, everything goes fine for me. I'm sorry to unable to show my performance this time to everyone who expected me to skate, however, I'd like to practice so hard and get a gold of Vancouver Winter Olympics. Currently, I just started training some jumps and it's not completed, they are almost from 20% to 30% condition, but I recovered to do some triple jumps. As I tried to practice basic hard training during my rehab, it brought some good things for me. My steps are going well more than before and some slow movements I was not good at became more smoother in natural."「滑りうまくなったと思う」フィギュア高橋、半年ぶり公の場に http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/sports/news/20090614-OYT1T00548.htm?from=navlp高橋大輔選手の写真 Daisuke's latest pics http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/zoom/20090614-OYT9I00577.htmhttp://ca.c.yimg.jp/news/20090614211452/img.news.yahoo.co.jp/images/20090614/jijp/20090614-00000035-jijp-spo-view-000.jpg3回転も… | Thank you so much for all the articles and links, Leode! And thank you for the vid link , SoMiTripleAxe! I found articles from Boom Sports, web edition of infromation paper edited by the studens of Kansai University. They feature Daisuke's appearance at the event and interviews. http://www.boom-sports.com/archives/51674316.html (with a picture) Takahashi Daisuke-san greeting at "Koushien on the ice"(quote Daisuke's speech in full at the event) Hello, everyone. I'm Daisuke Takahashi. It's been so long, really. I regret that I couldn't show up in front of you last season since I had an injury. After having a surgery, I resumed training on this rink from the 4th of April. Now my knee is recovered, and the practice is going fine.I hope I can skate in front of you again...but I am sorry I couldn't skate today. The Olympics is going to be held in Vancouver next year and I am going to do my best to aim for a gold medal although I am not sure yet to what level I will be able to raise the pitch.
(a yell "Ganbare!" from a man in the audience seats) Haha(laugh), I'll do my best from now on too and will appreciate your support.More pictures and interviews of Daisuke here http://www.boom-sports.com/archives/51674363.htmlhttp://www.boom-sports.com/archives/51674371.htmlhttp://www.boom-sports.com/archives/51674373.htmlI'm really sorry, I don't have time anymore today to translate Daisuke's interview. But I think the summary Leode did for us up here covers almost everything, major things, he wanted to tell us. Thank you, Leode

| Thank you so much for the news and the links, Leode and Yshion!! It was great to see him on the ice even though he didn't wear skating shoes!! - Yshion wrote:

OK. I translate some of Q&As from Boom Sports. Q: Was there a time when you felt frustrated? A: I didn't feel frustrated so much. (If I have to say,) I feel anxious lately. Q: What kind of anxiety do you have? A: I'm anxious about if I have still strength enough to skate for four and half minutes. Q: Doing triples? A: I'm doing them. All kinds of triples but axel. Q: What encouraged you while injury? A: ....... Nothing. I had many letters from my fans. But the rehab was too hard. Q:Was there anything that supported you? A:I have been wondering why I had to do all these things.... But I have made up my mind and the desire to go to the olympics has always been in my mind. The only thing for me is skating. Q:The only thing for you is skating. A:Now I think it was good for me that I injured. After working on my body through rehabilitation, I felt something when I skated. I forcused on basics. I feel I still have a room to improve. I can do what I wasn't good at. Q: What was the things that you wasn't good at? A: I couldn't do deep slowly. (skate slowly with deep edge?) I can do sticky skating. (sticky? gluey?? How can I say?? ) On the contrary, fast movements are..... But I become capable of both of them. Q: You look trimmed. A: I do nothing special. People say I lost wait. Q: In terms of figures? A: In terms of figures, I'm 1-2kg lighter than I was at World Championships in Sweden. Q:You are suntanned. A:(Looking up sky) It's weather.(laugh) I read a comment which one of Dai-chan's fans who actually saw the interview yesterday posted on another fan's blog. The person wrote Dai-chan couldn't answer immediately to the question "What encouraged you while rehabilitaition?". And after a while he said "the rehab was so hard.." He repeated the words like "I did rehab separating myself from my emotion." in the interview. (In Japanese, he did rehab "淡々と". It's difficult to translate... Sorry.. ) As you know Dai-chan is not a person who complains easily. The rehab was such hard work... But don't worry, the person wrote he didn't sound negative. And look at this picture. http://osaka.yomiuri.co.jp/zoom/20090615-OYO9I00399.htmSo many cameras!! GO DAI-CHAN!!

| Thanks everyone for all the translations, pictures, and video. Daisuke looks good. It'll be very interesting to see how he looks in September. Someone over on FSU translated an article saying that Dai might be competing at Nebelhorn Trophy. Fingers crossed for the European fans on here who were disappointed he didn't get a GP there. | |

Yes, this is the article. http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/090616/spm0906160501000-n1.htmI hope some of DTFF members can go there!! In this, a JSF manager said "It is necessary to gain ISU ranking points considering the skating order for SP at the olympics." and is planning Dai-chan's participation in international competitions (more than one) before NHK. So the skating order at Vancouver would be ISU rankings?? And a new article about his Kandai interview. The contents is almost the same but it is nicely written. I'm sorry I don't have time to translate it now. http://blog.shueisha.net/sportiva/othersports/index.php?ID=13

| I AM SO GOING! *tries not to scream in the office* This is the kind of news I was hoping for! Now all I need to know is how do I get there, where do I stay, do I have to go alone, and how much will it cost? *starts making plans*
Edit: Doesn't look like an easy thing for me to get there.... Can't he do Finlandia Trophy as well? That would be a lot easier....

| I found the schedule of KSM on JSF's site. Karl Shafer Memorial 10.15.2009-10.18.2009 http://skatingjapan.or.jp/whatsnew/detail.php?id=109&sports_id=2&type=eventThis information was updated on 27th July so it's rather reliable. I also read a news that JSF mentioned the name of KSM as the competition which Dai-chan might attend. (I'm sorry I can't find the news now.) However, it was like "KSM or that kind of competition." We need to wait a little more to see which competition is the one!! | |

| I think that Daisuke will not attend the KSM and he is currently focusing on Skate of Canada and NHK trophy of GP. He needs more training for his stamina. | |
