| Thanks very much Leode for the additional articles about Daisuke/4CC!! - Quote :
- I'm very impressed that Jeff talked about Daisuke after the competition. And I found that he was watching Daisuke's performance with a big smile near the rink.
From what I've always seen, Jeff seems like a really good, down-to-earth, and modest guy. His skating style and his attitude/personality are really commendable. - Quote :
- I'm still excited about Daisuke's record!!
Me too! Everytime I think about how Daisuke has broken Plushenko's record (it's incredible), a big smile lights up my face from being so proud. It's really an honor and an amazing accomplishment.

| Hi, DTFF members! I found the pic of Daisuke and Jeff after the SP interview. Nifty Sports http://iceblue.cocolog-nifty.com/figure/2008/02/6_ca99.htmlDuring the interview, when Daisuke tried to answer in English, he looked like he was asking Jeff "My English is right?", Jeff said to him "Yeah, it's O.K., good, Daisuke!" - UMgal wrote:

Yeah, as I've met Jeff in Canada before, I thought that he was very smart and nice quy! He loves a figure skating. _________________ GO DAISUKE!!

| Thanks everyone for posting the pictures and the articles. Yes, Daisuke's record is quite an accomplishment. I don't think I've ever seen him this happy after a competition before! Makes me happy that he's so proud of himself. Also, Jeff is the picture of class and humility with his quote about Daisuke. - Leode wrote:

I really wish I could see the press conferences. Thanks for the link, Leode. There's also a nice photo of Charlie White and his coach/choreographer Marina Zoueva.

This is just so cute and sweet. I would also love to watch this press conference if I could. Thanks very much Leode for letting me/us know about this and for the picture too!! I'm glad that two such nice, humble, and terrific skaters have a good rapport between them. By the way, someone in another figure skating discussion forum mentioned that Daisuke was the first male skater to do two quads and two triple axels in a program (or is it the first one to do this in a really long time)? Is this really true? If it is, then wow, this is indeed too incredible.

| Hello everyone! Thank you very very much for various information and sharing your wonderful impressions with me here!!! Finally I could calm myself down but still I couldn't find any words to say.......... I'm just super-happy with everything Dai-chan has done at whis wonderful competition 4CC and thank him from the bottom of my heart not to quit skating during the hard time. Here is Dai-chan's interview after FP. Sorry again for my imperfect translation. http://iceblue.cocolog-nifty.com/figure/2008/02/post_63c6.htmlQ: Congratulations to your victory! What a wonderful performance!D: Thank you very much. I did 2 quads and I'm happy I could do a good performance in front of many rivals. I thrusted my fists with full joy.(laugh) Even though I made a mistake on loop, I think I could skate trying to be careful overall. This result gave me confidence and I'm happy to participate here. I'm satisfied. Q: What did you feel on your quads? D: The fisrt single quad, I wasn't sure at the moment I jumped but I could land cleanly. On the contrary, at the combination quad I felt good when I jumped but I was bit wobble at landing. But I could jump 2 quads properly. Q:The score exceeded the all-time no.1 score which Plushenko marked at at Torino Olympics.D:I didn't expect such high score.... I'm happy frankly because I've never got such high score. But I think the standard of judging between Olympics and 4CC is different so I don't care much about it. To win and to do my own performance, these are what I always think most important. Simply I was surprised that I could win with big lead from Jeff. The fact that the judges admitted me up to here give me confidence. I will practice harder so I'd like them to give me more points next time. (laugh) Q: Is there any room to raise your score?D: There was a mistake on loop and I felt nervous because Buttle and Lysacek were there and I skated last. I will accustomed to my new skating shoes til March so I will be able to do better performance. Q: Regarding the structure of performance, why did you do lay-back spin in the last spins both of SP and FP?D:Because a lot of my fan say they love my lay-back spin and that is my favorite spin too. I think I could do spins most carefully at this game in this season. The element which is most difficult for me is spins. From now I'd like to change it my favorite by practicing most eagaly. Q: The applause from Korean audience was so big today too, wasn't it?D: Yes. Actually I was fairly tired so the applause which was beyond my expectaion helped me a lot. I'd like to say to the audience "Thank you very much." How big the reaction of the audience was was the most impressive thing in this game. I wonder the audience also helped me to get high score. Q: What did Nikolai say to you after the performance?D: He just said "Good job.(Otsukare)" Before skating? It was something like "Go" or "Go, skate". Each of us knows what we should do. Q:Next month the big game is awaiting for you. What is the task for World Chanpionships?D:This time I didn't get tired much compared with JNC but my physical strength was at peak when I jumped 2 quads. I have to enhance my physical strength. Q: Will you show us 2 quads next time too?D: I'm not sure! Anyway it's a big event. For the last performance of this season, I will try hard by skating more to do better performance. GO DAI-CHAN!!! | |

Hahaha! You are so cute too, glorydave! I checked the protocol of the best score of Plushenko and Joubert just for my interest. Plushenko's FP TES Base Value is 74.1 at 2006 Olympics. (TES Total 85.25 + PCS 82.42 = 167.67) 4T+3T+2Lo 3A+2T 3Lo 3A 3Lz 3Lz+2T CCoSp4 FCSp3 CiSt4 2F 3S SlSt3 FSSp3 CCoSp4 http://www.isufs.org/results/owg2006/OWG06_Men_FS_Scores.pdfBrian's FP TES Base Value is 78.23 at 2006 GP CoR. (TES Total 82.73 + PCS 77.40 = 160.13) 4T+2T 4S 3A CiSt3 CSSp4 4T 3Lo+2T 3F 3Lz FSSp2 SSp3 SlSt3 3S CCoSp4 http://www.isufs.org/results/gprus06/gprus06_Men_FS_Scores.pdfAnd Dai-chan's FP TES Base Value is 83.13 this time. (TES Total 93.98 + PCS 81.86 = 175.84) 4T 4T+2T 3A CiSt3 CoSp4 3A+2T+2Lo 3F+3T 3S 3Lo 3Lz FCoSp4 FSSp3 SlSt3 CCoSp3 http://www.isufs.org/results/fc2008/FC08_Men_FS_Scores.pdfDai-chan and Plushenko got + GOE more than 10 points. PCS are similar. - swandie wrote:

Yep!! I'm eager to see it too. Jeff is so nice! I have to become a fan of Jeff...., I think. - UMgal wrote:

| Thank you so much for the translation in English, information and the linking amazing vid, miyu!! At today's exhibition, Daisuke did "Bachelorette" and SP "Swan Lake" from circular step as final Performer. I was surprised that he jumped 3A(a little bit a shaky) especially at "Bachelorette". I heard the screaming from the crowds. They were very excited about Daisuke's performance. - Quote :
- But I have to let you know this!!!!
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=I_PXHg5qs3o Fantastic guys!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahaha, very funny. They made me a big laugh!! It reminds me an American move "Blades of Glory"!! http://oretachi.gyao.jp/I must say to thank you for Daisuke's fan in Korea and the audience. They always gave a big hand to all competitors with warm atmosphere. It helped a lot for Daisuke and all to do good performance as if they were at Nationals. I heard the news that Daisuke has a fan club "Dark Swan" in Korea. I'm very glad to hear that!! I hope that a lot of figure skating fan in the world is interested in Daisuke's skating and his personality! Here is a beautiful banner of "Dark Swan" for Daisuke from Japanese TV program. _________________ GO DAISUKE!!

| Hi and thanks everybody for your impressions! Thank you miyu for your translation and link! It made me laugh so much! It's so nice to see that these big skaters are so friendly and they can enjoy togheter... - Quote :

The element which is most difficult for me is spins. From now I'd like to change it my favorite by practicing most eagaly. THANK YOU DAI-CHAN!!! Yes, we love your lay-back spin! Maybe spins aren't his strongest element, but none of the other male skaters can do a so nice lay-back spin! Yesterday I was busy on an italian forum, where people said that Daisuke's score was a bit inflated... I think Daisuke gave the best answer in the interview miyu translated: - Quote :
- D:I didn't expect such high score.... I'm happy frankly because I've never got such high score. But I think the standard of judging between Olympics and 4CC is different so I don't care much about it. To win and to do my own performance, these are what I always think most important.
I really admire Daisuke for his lucidity. I don't obtain any new score record, but I'm more excited and more restless than Dai! It's true: judges can give different scores in different competition... but at this time I think that none can do a program with the same elements of R&J... - UMgal wrote:

... it's exactly what I mean! Now I'm looking for Daisuke's exhibition on web...

... for me it's enough to see he's so happy! It's not same interview with Daisuke as miyu wrote, this was for Japanese TV Sports news program. But Daisuke talked about almost same thing as the interview that miyu translated. - UMgal wrote:

Yes, I think Daisuke was the first male skater. Because I've never seen the person who has performed 2 quads and 2 triple axels in one program before. I've just only seen 4 persons with 3 quads. _________________ GO DAISUKE!!
