| Thank you everybody for sharing thoughts and information. - miyu wrote:

Yes!!! He mentioned before that he regretted that his super-low sit spin made his spin slow. He had skipped it with ice shows in Jan, and improved over all speed. He also learned how to enjoy his performance with audience. He learned a lot from Ice shows!! 3A (7.5) +GOE 2.43=9.93 > 4T (9.0) Love this formula.

- Good he got level 4 for the circular step sequence... it seems that he's made small changes/improvements in both sequences and in the spins. If he keeps up like this, this program could get close to being "the best SP ever performed" at Worlds (oh gosh I hope so!!)
Small changes can make all the difference. I think that Daisuke is striving to skate the best short program ever at worlds (or at least his best). There's a very good chance he'll do it...as good as his performance here was, I'm sure that he'll find something that he needs to work on. I hope to see similar results for his free skate. In other news....Pang and Tong won Pairs!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so happy for them! The Zhangs take second and Castile and Okolski take third. Congrats to all of them! Mao is in first after the short program with Miki right behind her. Joannie Rochette is in third. In dance, Virtue and Moir, Davis and White, and Navarro and Bommentre are still the top 3 but Virtue and Moir increase their lead to about 4 points.

| Haven't seen Dai-chan's SP yet, but the score alone means it will be really special!
Daisuke is SUCH a complete skater, and his dance is just in a different league to everyone else - it's completely captivating. I'm so glad to hear that that seems to be his favourite part too.
Does anyone know if the 4Cs comp is being broadcast on TV in Japan, and if so, on what channel?
GO DAISUKE IN THE FREE SKATE TONIGHT!! GO FOR THE GOLD!!!

| Virtue and Moir take dance with a total score of over 207 points!!! Davis and White come in second with a little more than 199! Both skated very well, although Virtue and Moir had a little wobble in one of their lifts. Davis and White have improved leaps and bounds since the Grand Prix. They beat their season's best by over 20 points!!! I'm so happy for them!!!! Navarro and Bommentre win bronze. Congrats to all the medalists!!!!
A little more than an hour to go until the men skate for gold. I really wish I could stay up!

| OH MY GOSH! I'm so happy & proud of Daisuke! Such incredibly high scores! And higher than Plushenko's... amazing! Hopefully he'll do this well at Worlds and didn't peak here, if he skates like this at Worlds he'll be simply unbeatable. Now I'm going to watch his short and long programs on youtube... I don't wanna wait til March knowing that he did this amazing! | |

| What an exciting thing to wake up to! I dreamed that Daisuke had fallen on his quads so I was a bit worried. It's not that I didn't believe in him, just a general fear you have and I'm not used to it because I've never been such a big fan of a particular skater before. Of course I want other skaters to be able to meet their goals and do well but I especially want Daisuke's skating dreams to come true...sounds cheesy I know... Thanks so much for the link, Yumei. Wow...just wow... Both quads off the top! It looked like he had more energy towards the end of the program than he did at the Grand Prix Final. His scores are massive!!! Part of me is a little concerned about the inflation and the comments that come with it but that aside, Daisuke deserved it! - Shatterpoint wrote:

He had a bit of a problem on his triple loop in the middle of the program and he only got level 3s for his step sequences. I will bet that he's going to go home and do everything he can to get as close to perfect as possible. - Shatterpoint wrote:

With you on that, Shatterpoint!!! I don't remember ever having to wait this long for ESPN to show a competition. I have access to ESPN360 but watching it would have meant going to bed at around 7:30 this morning and I have to work this evening. And I look forward to your report, yerina!

| Just saw it on Youtube - How sky high was Dai-chan's confidence during that program? He was so on, he made it look effortless. And great to see him so excited afterwards, blowing kisses to the fans and catching the flying heart pillow. A thoroughly deserved win!! I SO want to see him just keep going up and up and take the Gold in Vancouver. There is NO-ONE that should have Olympic gold around his neck more than Daisuke!!! | |

| I have to watch this program!! but 1 quad+1 quad in combi (he did it!), 1 TA, 1TAcombi, and levels 4 in spins; that is very impressive He is very strong, gifted, and also he worked a lot, improving every element, and he has great energy and spirit I was sure of this result, but the score is amazing | |

| Thanks so much everyone for sharing your wonderful opinions, videos, pictures, and articles about our champion Daisuke! Today is such a happy day! Daisuke gave us a such a calm, powerful, and commanding free skate. He was so in charge of every aspect of his performance (the jumps/two gorgeous quads, spins, steps, and expression). In the Icenetwork article posted by Shatterpoint, he mentioned that he was carefully focused on every detail of the performance and he made it all look effortless as nipponophile said. His reward was of course that incredible score from the judges. All I can say right now is that I'm so proud of him once again and I his skating very much!!! (sorry for using too many emoticons) I can't wait for the exhibition.
