| Hi everyone! Japanese skater's ice show Dreams on Ice which was held last weekend is going to be aired tomorrow. According to Fuji TV program guide, the lastest on-ice video of Daisuke will be introduced in the program. AND PLEASE LOOK AT THIS VIDEO!!Perhaps this is a part of yesterday's local news in Kansai, which featured Nobunari Oda. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSis0Pkz4G8Dai-chan was doing 3F(3Lz?)+2T!! His speed of recovery is beyond my expectation........... Anyway I'm really really glad to see it. | |

| Hi miyu Thank you for posting the news and the video link Yes, that combo looks like a 3Lz+2T, and the good thing is, the 3Lz looks fully rotated (or at least falls under the 1/4 under rotation requirement on the landing). I'm (cautiously) enthusiastic about Daisuke's recovery rate, at this point | |

| Thank you for the video, dilemmma! I'm sorry I don't have enough time to translate the whole video. Here is my very draft translation. Dai-chan said "I can't get the image of rotation of triple jump." at 0:07. He has just started to practice triple jumps. Takeshi Honda gave him advice everytime he jumped. He worked aiming to expand the mobility of hip joint during the rehab. As a result, now he can move more flexibly than before.Oh yes! I can see his movements become smoother. I'm amazed by his quality of step sequence which looked almost the same as before. - hsuhs wrote:
- Also nice to see Mr. Takeshi Honda being involved.
Yes!! Takeshi always cares about Dai-chan. They are really good mates. And the person who stood next to Utako coach in step practice is Mr. Makoto Okazaki. He is an ISU technical specialist. I think he helps Dai-chan to check the level of the step sequence and other elements. You can find him in some other videos which filmed last fall.

| Wow!!! If it didn't say that the video is from a few days ago, I would have thought it was from last fall!! Thank you so much for the video link, dilemma, and for the translation, miyu - it is SO good to see Dai-chan like this on the ice. I am getting more and more optimistic now! | |

Thank you so much for the video link, dilemma, and for the translation, miyu - it is SO good to see Dai-chan like this on the ice. I am getting more and more optimistic now! Me,too Things are gong smoother than we expected it to be. And Daisuke do improve in some way due to the injury, say the flexibility Thank you for the translation, miyu. But, I don't think those steps are better than before Maybe he should refine them further Besides, if you want to get a HQ version of the vid above, please go to the video section

| Thanks miyu and dilemma for the video links. It looks like Daisuke's on the right track. It's not 100% yet but at this rate, I think he'll be pretty close by the time NHK comes around. | |

| Miyu and Dilemma, thank you so much for the new video link. I am located in USA, so I really really appreciate your guys effort to provide latest info about Dai-Chan.
I compared movement of Daisuke doing " La Strada" with the old one. And YES!!!. He is much more fluid and gorgeous. Do you guys agree?
This must be a divine invention for him not only to win a gold medal, but to grow into the true artist.
BTW, does anybody find video of Get Sports broadcast" Coming back from injury?" I can not find it.

There haven't been any official announcements yet. What I know is this comment from someone in his team or like that on the magazine published at the end of May. "Currently(the beginning of May) nothing has been determined. Whether he will use last year's programs or make new programs is yet to be determined. We have to talk with Pasquale and also gather infomations about which music his competitors will use. In any case, we hope the programs would be those which he could skate comfortably." Pasquale came to Japan in order to choreograph an ice show (Ice Jewery June 26-28) in Kanazawa recetly. A few bloggers wrote that they saw him at DOI too. I was wondering if he was going to see Dai-chan. But then swine flu hit Ice Jewery..... I hope it didn't disturb Dai-chan's schedule. - Genki wrote:

I don't know it's such much more.... But I feel almost the same as you, he is very fluid and gorgeous!!

| it would be stupid that he does not keep these programs because: - they haven't been presented last year in competition - they are certainly well choregraphied - they have beautiful music and expression potential - he has worked them, and it is interesting to have this benefit especially for this special season (O.G.) instead of to start new programs at zero | |

| Those are very reasonable points, anne-marie. I think many would agree. But. Daisuke might choose to skate to scales (you know, in music - C-D-E-F-G-A-B), and there is nothing we can do about it He does whatever he wants. Also, he's been through a lot in the last 6 months, might have become a bit different man, start seeing / feeling certain things differently. His views and preferences might have changed as a result of it. OT: New customized icons, huh? | |

I agree with you, anne-marie. It would be a great advantage for Dai-chan to use "eye" and "La Strada" which he has worked with since last year. OTOH, I think he might have kept some music in his mind for Olympic Games. As Vancouver has been his goal for a long time, he surely has thought about it again and again.... And obviously "eye" and "La Strada/Ocean Wave" weren't his choices for OG at the beginning. It would be also great if he could skate to the music he has wanted to skate to at OG. And I'm a bit concerned with "eye". As you know, Latin programs are so popular. Especially Patrick's Tango SP. Do you think Dai-chan will be able to beat Patrick's Tango by eye? I don't mean Patrick is superior to him but IMO that Tango program is so well-choreographed.... (It reminds me of Stephane's Poeta and the battle at 07GPF. ) Of course I want to see the complete version of eye very very much, though... (I'm sorry but I don't have nothing to do but think about useless things at this time of season.. ) - hsuhs wrote:
- He does whatever he wants.
Yes!! In any case, I trust Dai-chan's decision 100%!! I just hope he can enjoy this season and OG!!

OTOH, I think he might have kept some music in his mind for Olympic Games. As Vancouver has been his goal for a long time, he surely has thought about it again and again.... There's a third possibility that, I believe, hasn't been mentioned yet. To recycle an old program! Many titles and medals in figure skating have been earned with recycled programs. Just sayin' **** Oh my, just saw it - it's glorydave's birthday today!!! Happy Birthday, Gloria, dear Have a happy 29!
