Members for Development Camp in Vancouver

Hi, DTFF members, Good news for you!!
JSF(Japan Skating Federation) has decided Daisuke as one of 12 representatives for attending 2009 elite development camp. Daisuke was determined by the results of 2nd place at 2007 World Championships.
In September, this camp will be held at Vancouver in Canada.

Men: Daisuke Takahashi, Nobunari Oda, Takahiko Kozuka, Takahito Mura, Kensuke Nakaniwa
Ladies: Mao Asada, Miki Ando, Fumie Suguri, Yukari Nakano, Akiko Suzuki, Nana Takeda

But I hope this doesn't put too much pressure on Daisuke. He needs to have all the time for his rehabilitation...

It's a really good news for Dai-chan.
It means he can receive support from JSF the same amount as Mao or Miki who had good results this season. This will help him a lot.

JSF will soon announce the selection criteria for Vancouver Olympics after JSF next meeting, May 9th.

JSF will avoid one shot selection at Japanese National Championships and regard a skater who will finish the highest with a medal at GPF as a major candidate. The selection criteria for 3 female and 3 male representative skaters will be determined at JSF meeting on May 9th.
Mr. Yoshioka, JSF Figure Skating Enhancement Manager, explained "We are considering a different policy from what we've done so far, selecting top skaters at Japanese National Championships." It seems they select skaters reflecting marks from foregin judges in anticipation of Olympic.

And also it is expected to be included to make consideration for medal contenders who injure but can come back from their injuries till Olympic like Daisuke Takahashi, in the process of selection.


I don't want Dai-chan to push himself much during GP games. He needs careful conditioning.
