| Thank you very much for the update, miki. And hi, and welcome to the board My mood dropped to zero when I learned the news. I hope Daisuke's not in pain, and I too wish him a speedy recovery. | |

| Hi, Miki. Welcome to DTFF and thank you for the update NHK TV news reported Daisuke went to hospital today and was diagnosed his injury as right knee sprain. But they didn't say how serious his injury is. I don't know if he is going to have a detailed medical check or he has already had. I just hope his injury is not that serious and he will not be hasty untill he is perfectly recovered. - hsuhs wrote:

| Thank you for the information, miki and welcome to DTFF! I was very shocked about this news. And I feel same way, Yshion. Hoping that his injury is not serious and gets well soon. I know how Daisuke did attend the competitions of GP series. He was a seeded skater and he withdrew from an assigned this event that thus he will not be assigned to another event like Trophée Eric or Cup of Russia and also GP final. Oh.... I don't know what I say to Daisuke.....Please don't think about the competitions anymore, just do get well......We'd like to see your big smile on ice soon! 高橋選手、今は試合の事は考えず、膝の怪我を治す事を第一に考えて下さいね。氷上であなたの素敵な笑顔が見れるのを楽しみにしています!

| OMG I'm so afraid for Daisuke... I hope that this injury is not serious and he can get well soon! I have no more words... GO DAISUKE! We're always supporting you! | |

| I've been told that a figureskater may take part in another event of GP series even if he withdrew from the first. And Dai is planning to go to NHK Trophy | |

| The news continues ... and this is not a great news at all. http://sportsnavi.yahoo.co.jp/other/headlines/skate/20081104-00000040-kyodo_sp-spo.htmlThe update says they suspect that he might have torn the ligament and there's even a possibility that he may not be able to compete the entire season!? OMG. What are we going to do?! This is getting scary. Apparently he hurt his knee when he was landing a jump (I believe it happened on the 31st), and he's still having trouble walking now. It's still just a possibility but I hope this is not going to be the case! p.s. thanks everyone for your warm welcome. | |

| Thank you for the additional news, miki. I've just read the same news and was in despair. Daisuke has suffered enough for whole off-season. No more pain for him, please... I'll just wait and pray for the day he'll feel no pain and be able to skate. And hope he'll be able to keep his motivation, never forget his love for skating. I love him and his skating, not because he is a medal contender, just because he is a wonderful skater. Gambare, DAISUKE!! | |

| Welcome miki and thanks for the news. I'm so shocked. It's like a bad dream. I'm sure he feels worse. It sounds very serious. I hope it's not so serious that he has to miss the whole season. So many skaters have come up injured this season. In any event, I hope Daisuke gets the rest that he needs to have a good recovery. I'd love to see him make NHK but I'd rather he be healthy at Japanese nationals (or 4CC or worlds or in the worst case, next season) than hurting at NHK. | |

Me, too. I'll miss Daisuke skating, but he has to take his time for getting better and come back in his best condition. I continue to hope that this injury could be less serious than we think... GO DAISUKE!

| Oh noooooooooo, this is so sad! Knee injuries are quite serious, I hope he doesn't need surgery and can come back for the end of the season to show us his wonderful new programs, but... Please, Dai-chan, take all the time it needs to let your knee heal properly! We'll wait patiently for your return to the ice! | |

| The little detail of him not being able to walk is discouraging but I'm hoping that it's something that doesn't require surgery, just rest and rehab. I really hope that he's feeling alright. The bright side is that this happened now and not next season. If it is an issue of overuse, Dai will know next time not to push himself so hard. He's faced a lot of challenges in the past so I'm sure he is up for this one. Get Well Soon, Daisuke!!! | |

| I've checked articles on web and Asahi News Papers, but they're almost same, no extended news. According to all the articles I could find so far, through MRI he has no trouble on his leg bone, and the doctor diagnosed he needs about three weeks' rest for the present. But, since swelling doesn't go down, he is suspected to have Anterior cruciate ligament injury (only partially torn). He is planned to have detailed medical check on the 7th of November. http://www.asahi.com/sports/update/1104/TKY200811040322.htmlhttp://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/sports/winter/news/20081105-OHT1T00064.htmMaybe, we won't have any more information about the injury untill 7th. I really hope the injury is not serious... And Miss C, Hapy Birthday to you | |

| Thank you for the additional info, Yshion. I've googled the name of the injury, and found an article and a pic. http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/knee/anteriorcruciate.htmThe article says: - Quote :
- A torn ACL or acl injury is a relatively common knee injury amongst sports people. A torn ACL usually occurs through a twisting force being applied to the knee whilst the foot is firmly planted on the ground or upon landing.
I wonder if the blade got stuck in the ice, while Daisuke was completing rotation. And a belated Happy Birthday, Miss C

| Thanks for the additional news, Yshion. I really hope Dai didn't tear his ACL. That is like the worst knee injury there is and even if Dai were to recover from it, he might still have nagging problems. I pray that it's not a torn ACL. The wait until Friday is going to be worse than the wait for Stephane's [retirement] announcement was. - hsuhs wrote:

That would definitely do it (or at least cause a sprain). On a happier note, Happy Birthday, MissC!

A 3A..... I love his 3A's, but not if they make him suffer. - miyu wrote:

Your observation gives hope, miyu. But we don't know what Daisuke did on Nov 1st.
