LOL Pattina are you drinking to much Italian wine? I get notified by email when someone posts here and I saw all the notifications and I almost had a heart attack I thought something must of happened to Dai but it was only a computer glitch. Strange that you cannot delete. We had that option before. I see that Hyoen 2019 performed at Worlds Opening Ceremony but no Dai.

| Hi Friends! I'm so glad I found everyone again. I was so stressed when I tried to log onto the old site and it was gone. Huge thanks to the person who resurrected the forum and also to Pattina for always keeping us informed and not missing a beat during the mini hiatus.
I love the photo of Dai with his mobile in his hand. It made me feel a bit better as I've just finished watching the Worlds. My heart is broken for Shoma and I have to say he's always underscored. Kudos to Yuzu for coming back so strong after his SP and I personally feel he did enough to win it all. I suppose it just highlights that artistry is so subjective. Congrats to the winners.
I was pleasantly surprised during the CBC broadcast when they aired a photo of Yuzu and beside it was a photo of Dai because they were commenting on how they were the only Japanese men who have won the World title. It was after Shoma had skated his FS so I really appreciated seeing Dai's face on the screen!

| Hello Dancergirl I am so grateful that the forum was resurrected to. I was at my wits end but all is good now.
I have been bummed about Shoma all day. To be beaten by Vincent Zhou is really a pain in my heart. Judges were tough on him in the SP and FS, but his jumps were a bit of a mess but he did not let that affect his performance level. It must of been nerves because he usually is so consistent.
Don't even get me started on the scoring of the Ice Dance. Charlene and Marco were so undermarked it was ridiculous. The Japanese ladies Kaori and Satoka were also undermarked. I usually don't complain to much about the judging but it was blatant that Team Japan got no favors while others did. Yuzu got the only medal for Japan. I do believe that Nathan should have won but the margin of his win was also ridiculous. End of my Off Topic rant.
Enjoy your weekend! | |

| Hi Shya. Sorry to hear you were as disappointed as I was. I'm convinced Shoma's injury wasn't completely healed. There wasn't much time between his last competition and the Worlds for him refresh and rejuvenate. I also noticed his lips were chapped leading me to believe he had a cold.
I disagree about Nathan's win. From someone who has dance training I just don't see Nathan's extensive training. It clearly shows in his arms and hand movements that he needs more dance training. I have always felt, in general, both Yuzu and Nathan have been overscored but today I feel that Nathan definitely was but Yuzu wasn't.
Nathan's style hasn't grown on me and at this point I don't think it will unless he manages to refine his arms and hands and brings a smoothness to his skating that Dai, Shomo and Yuzu have in between their jumps. Their collective programs have all been like jello as they melt from one movement to the next but I find Nathan doesn't connect his movements. It's like he just blasts them out there for lack of a better description and without any rhyme or reason. They are just movements thrown out there in between the jumps.
Dai, Shoma and Yuzu are able to show their artistry throughout their programs. Nathan has to learn how to do this so if he hasn't done so yet I don't feel he should be the best in the World. I realize it's all subjective and Nathan's fans will disagree with me but it's how I feel.
I was very happy for Vincent because I learned today that he's quite the brainiac and even received an acknowledgement from President Obama for Education Excellence. That's even more impressive than winning a Bronze at the Worlds so good for him!

| OFF Topic Again. lol Don't get me wrong I am not a fan of Nathan's skating the reason why I said he deserved to win was because his BV (base value of his jumps) was higher than Yuzu BV and that is how the skaters who lack artistry can win. If you recall it was Nathan who started the trend of 5 quads in a program. He did that for a reason because he was being beaten consistently by Shoma and Yuzu who have superior skating skills than him.
Remember at the Olympics Nathan did 6 quads in his FS and he won the FS. He went from one jump to another no skating in between but he won the FS because of his BV.
