Without understanding his actual explanations, I can tell that they talked about my favourite pet-peeve when it comes to inexperienced dancers: the toe-point!  I think it took Dai some time to get used to pointing his toes, because this is sth. that skaters can't really do due to their stiff boots. (In the LOTF rehearsal footage it was obvious that Dai always forgot about it. I'm sure Cheryl reminded him of it several times, because in the end he did it when he performed on stage.  ) - PATTINA wrote:

Congrats to Shoma for a wonderful performance and second place in the SP (silver medal in small medal ceremony). He really was amazing! Such a serious face on Uncle Dai watching Shoma I bet he was very proud!

I have not been posting lately my life has been so busy but I always stop by here and get my Dai updates he is like a drug.
Congrats to Shoma for winning Silver Medal at Worlds and Congrats to Yuzu for winning the Gold Medal. Team Japan did really well in the Mens'. Unfortunately not to good for the Ladies they lost one spot for the Olympics. It was a tough competition all around so many good skaters and teams.
I am thrilled that Dai is coming to the US. I will see how my schedule and finances are in Sept. and maybe take a vacation to Hawaii (I will be taking a vacation in August) so it may be tight. I hope the tickets do not sell out because Hawaii is not that far from Japan and his home country fans will buy those tickets up fast. lol | |

| Short update - again from office I bet you all know that on Monday Mao Asada announced her retirement from competition. We all will miss her powerful but graceful skating, her passion and love for this sport. | Dropping by to wish everyone a very HAPPY EASTER as well! Apologies for not having supported our dear Pattina with updating for a while. I've been very busy and exhausted lately. (And Mao's retirement-news didn't help either. ) I honestly admire your relentless energy and dedication to keeping this place updated at all times, Pattina! Thank you for providing us with so many exciting news in spite of your uncooperative technical equipment. Hopefully the connectivity problem is solved for good now. I'm very excited about the glimpses from the LOTF rehearsals. | Hi Hullabaloo! i feel your pain about Mao retiring. She's such a star that I'm not worried about her future but it makes me sad to think we won't be seeing her in competition anymore. There's no other female skater that has her elegance and that special "star" quality. At least we will still be able to see her in ice shows but now my interest in Ladies Skating has completely dropped.
I had no idea that LOTF will be hitting the road. That's incredible if Dai will be on tour, as well. I must admit that I'm kind of disappointed it's not the original cast because they gelled together so nicely (on and off stage). I'm sure this cast will do just as well but I guess I was looking forward to seeing the same dancers that seemed like a family. | |
