I find it hilarious that Johnny and Evan finished with the exact same score (244.77)! Very Happy
And Johnny tried the quad in competition for the first time... finally!

BTW has it already been decided who will be sent to 4CC in men's game? bounce bounce
Apparently, Johnny, Evan and Stephen Carriere were named on the team for 4CC. If they really go, it will be an interesting competition!!

Here's Mirai Nagasu's LP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_tv0h5tZ74
I love her skating, much more than Caroline Zhang's. She's so soft and has beautiful jumps - I also think she has better choreographies. It will be interesting to see how she places against Mao and Yu-Na in the coming years (will she do the senior GP next fall?).

I don't remember an other competition where skaters finished at the same score!
Now, with the quad, Johnny will be an important rival at Word Championships, but also for 4CC!

I saw the protocol. Evan got Level 4 and 2.71 GOE for his SlSt of FP. It's pretty amazing score, isn't it.
Evan's last step sequence is really gorgeous, I think it's the best part of his program and he interprets it in a very intense way!
I hope also Daisuke can have level 4 next competitions! He can do it!

GO DAISUKE!!!

Oh my...................... No Shocked Exclamation Question confused affraid
It's a real surprise! Exact same score!!!
At 2007 Worlds in Tokyo, Yukari and Carolina's scores are exactly same like this, so Carolina couldn't participated in exhibition, but this is... ah... what can I say...

I saw Johnny's programs, and I'm watching it again and again now..
What a solid, emotional performance, and a quad!! Very Happy
I shed tears with him from his Slst.
He seems like just a diffrent person compare to a year ago.
Not just about clean performance, I renewed how he stronger for mentally and physically.
That was really impressive and moving.

Evan's performance was gorgeous too, especially steps were fabilous!!
I thought he is not in a good condition because his jumps are little shaked, but I'm surprised that how he combined combination jumps with intense. If Johnny did just one more double... Crying or Very sad

Anyway, congratulations everyone! cheers
What a great fight for both.
I REALLY hope they will come 4CC I love you

As it stands so far, yerina, Evan and Johnny are going to 4CC. I thought that Evan might decline his invite since he was looking to worlds as his next competition but I guess he has decided to go. It'll be interesting to see how they do against Daisuke.

You're very welcome Leode, glorydave, miyu and everyone else! sunny

MissC, I do believe that Mirai will be competing on the senior level Grand Prix circuit next year.

Yerina, I had no idea that Yukari and Carolina had the same exact score at last year's Worlds! This was new to me. I was not sure if any two skaters had received the same exact scores before under COP (I did know that scores could get incredibly close like at the Grand Prix Final with Daisuke and Stephane).

Here's an interesting article from Icenetwork.com about the men's competition results.

http://web.icenetwork.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080127&content_id=43127&vkey=ice_news

After I watched the event last night, I actually thought that Johnny should have won because overall his jumps were cleaner than Evan's. The results were really interesting and surprising to me. I really appreciated the fact that Johnny did not fall to the pressure of having to skate after Evan's own successful performance like what happend last year though. Johnny showed real strength last night and his tears at the end moved me (it reminded me of Daisuke at the end of his LP at last year's Worlds).

Overall good job and congratulations to Evan, Johnny, and Stephen for giving us such great performances last night! cheers

Here are the men's LPs (hope they stay up long enough)

Hi, everyone. Here's one more post from me about the U.S. Nationals (this one has to do with Daisuke so I think you guys might be interested).

Have you guys heard of the U.S. male skater Adam Rippon? He is the recent Junior Grand Prix gold medalist. He's 18 years old and he trains with Morosov at the Ice House. I heard that Adam had an incredible performance at this U.S. Nationals (it was not televised though). Daisuke is one of his favorite skaters and I heard that Daisuke even helped him a bit with his skating (since they train together). I'm always so happy to learn that other skaters like Daisuke or get inspired by him. Very Happy

This is Adam's website- ttp://www.figureskatersonline.com/adamrippon/07-profile.html

Here's a video of this lovely and very talented young skater (it's not from this Nationals though).

He won the JGP Final where the US men swept the podium and he will be at junior worlds this year.

UMgal, I think your link is broken. The "h" is missing off of it.

This one should work: http://www.figureskatersonline.com/adamrippon

Thanks very much swandie for fixing the link for me!

Here's Adam's JGP Final winning LP to Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonota." He is so expressive and his footwork is terrific and he can even get into a layback position (like Daisuke)! Wow, I'm really impressed. Shocked

Adam is very similar to Daisuke in his expression. It was kind of eerie watching his steps and choreography. To me, Moonlight Sonata is a boring piece of music but Adam makes it a little less dull. Also, he does a doughnut which is traditionally done by ladies. I think that in a few years, he will take the senior level by storm!

Thank you very much for various infomations, everyone! Very Happy Very Happy

I saw Johnny and Evan's high-spirited performace. I was impressed very much. cheers cheers
Honestly speaking I prefered Johnny's. His jumps were beatiful and he organized himself well throughout his performance. I could feel Evan's tremendous passion from his SlSt.

4CC will become a very very exciting game! Luck you, yerina!! cheers

Thank you for the information about Adam Rippon, UMgal and swandie.
I think he is rather a well-known skater among Japanese figure skate fans. He participated at Chirstmas skate show in Japan last Dec. It is very good experience for Adam to train with Dai-chan!
Sorry swandie but I love the music, Moonlight Sonata. It's one of the music which I want Dai-chan to skate to. Cool

GO DAI-CHAN alien alien

You don't have to apologize, miyu. You have a right to your own opinion.
