Thank you for the updates everyone.  It was great to see Dai out and about enjoying himself so thank you for the Instagram info, Ilica.  Thank you Twind for yet another translation.  

It looks like Dai got a mention in the June issue of International Figure Skating magazine with a link to Marnie.  Despite his retirement I guess we’re not the only ones who can’t let go.

Dancergirl, thanks for link. I understand that who wrote the lines admires Daisuke and finds "Fine on the Outside" a masterpiece of artistry on ice. I would only add that to me Daisuke showed plenty of magnificent artistry also in the past, not just "glimpses".

Pattina, it’s interesting how each individual takes away something different from what they’ve read.  I casually read what the author wrote and didn’t catch the remark about “glimpses”.  You are correct and he’s had his unique artistry all along and is in a class of his own.  Truly untouchable.  I was just happy that the Skating World is still thinking of him so was pleased that they even knew about Marnie and are spreading the news.

Yes, I'm quite happy of praising words about Dai's magic and artistry. Above all when talking about a program which was intended for a commercial and indeed proved to be a masterpiece of emotional intensity!!

He looks thoughful but IMO he could be joking, as he often does when posing for pictures.      Not sure about NYC. Dai's hair are quite shaved (and red it seems) on right side as they were last year, more or less in this period. well, one month is already passed since he paid visit to Chai-san so of course it's possible that he got a new hair-cut in NY in the meantime.

EDIT: this blogger found out that same pic was in some FOI publication of last year (or so I understand, as I'm translating via Google from Chinese to English).

Hi Pattina.  Thanks for the explanation about the photo and pointing out that a commercial has grown into yet another masterpiece.  As for the photo I knew it wasn't taken in NYC because you had mentioned it was older.  I was just referring to the fact that he's probably been doing a lot of contemplating during his transition into his new life abroad so it was quite appropriate for you to post that particular picture.  So true about how to determine when a photo was taken judging by his hairstyle.  I also admire your attempt at translating Chinese into English.  You are braver than I am for I have given up on Google Translate.

OK now I am confused about the photo Pattina posted. From what I understand
Dai-chan posted the old photo himself on his own IG because the time says
17 hours ago, and we are trying to figure what date the photo was taken, right?

I am not confused about his gorgeousness though.

Nostalgic Dai is         but also a little heartbreaking... I still can remember how hard it was at the beginning, when everything was different and alien, and you're so homesick... but eventually you will get used to it Dai-chan

Shyla, you are right: Dai-chan himself posted the "nostalgic pic" on his instagram today.

We were guessing the time judging from his hair-cut. Shaved and red on right side, so I though about last Summer.

It turned out it was on FOI publication last year, so our guessing were right.

Love pic on the beach. Dai has his hair in what I call "samurai" look. Tanned muscles... to die for.

Sorry for confusing you Shyla.  That’s what happens when you check out the forum at midnight which is what I did.  I originally didn’t realize the photo Pattina posted was from Dai’s instagram.  I thought it was just an old photo that Pattina had unearthed and posted so we were just discussing when it was taken.

Ilica, I so wish you could meet Dai because you truly understand what he’s going through during his transition.  I’ve worked with many people that have transferred from other countries and I have seen first hand how lonely and overwhelming it can be.  Although I’ve never experienced it myself I have always tried to be supportive and would encourage my coworkers to take the new employee out for lunch, drinks or dinner as I would certainly appreciate that if I was in the same position.  We had many enjoyable evenings out so I am hoping the same thing will happen to Dai.  Preferably with you.
Thanks also for the shot of Dai sitting on the grass.  He looks great, as always!

ilica do you recognize any of the buildings in the photo where Dai is sitting on the grass. Could it possibly be the school that he is attending.

Missing Dai-chan so much. We won't get to see him in shows this summer. I am not to sure

Ilica, the pics were taken from vkontakte the links to which Pattina posted. There the pics came from FB where they were open to public at that time. Nothing illegal was done technically speaking. It's an assumption that later he might have switched FB to friends only and therefore the pics automatically became not seen. Some nutjobs fans think like they own him   . Nevertheless, the beach pic he posted on FB as an avatar, you can see it with or wthout log in and you don't need to be friended. It makes me think that we might see more . Plus anyone can send him the message to FB:

Btw, another fan told me on twitter that his museum pic on IG were liked by Volosozhar and Anabelle (Morozov's daughter). Good news!  Seems like he is not that lonely now.

Shyla, I agree it does feel like he is not going to skate at FrOI this August. No boots, no practice, waiting for Nagamitsu to visit him not earlier than October...

Well, I just hope one day he will change his mind. Such a talent to waist (and money to make for his own self) .

Thank you Genki for the Asahi beer CM. It seems like it was filmed in a studio maybe
before he left.  Mai Asada will be taking over Dai's role as manager which makes sense
since he is unable to make any appearances in Japan.

Let's talk I went to his FB page and sent him a message. It was short one, welcoming him to
the United States and hoping that his studies were going well. I did not reveal my uberism
in my message other than to say that his skating was missed by his many fans this past season.

Thanks let`s talk for explanation, I was curious where it has been posted because the photo looks like a private one. And I was right to suspect something -- now we have Dai on FB!      
Although we, normal people, can't see much, it's great he can communicate like this with his friends.

Thanks ostile for reminding me about Marnie! I'm definitely going!  I would  love to go to the special Japanese showing too, as there is a tiny tiny possibility of you know what    , but I'm working tomorrow till 9pm, so probably I can't even make it to see people leaving the cinema... or can I?
