| Hello, everyone at DTFF I went to this Rinkai Charity Exhibition today!! I live right near this Rinkai Sports Center and was so lucky to have a chance to participate. This was my first time to watch Daisuke skating live, and I was sooooo excited Since this exhibition was open for only Osaka Prefecture residents and the number of seats was so small, audiences were limited to only 400 people. So it was a kind of compact show for just one hour, but was warm and hearty, wonderful one Daisuke appeared for the opening and did 3F and spins, then as the last performer of the show, he skated to Swan Lake. He looked a little tired, I think, but did 3F, gorgeous 3A, 3Lz very easy, and incredibly fast and beautiful spins (including camel spins)!! Besides, step sequences were...just amazing!!! Daisuke was like a storm or something. I was surprised by his terrific speed and elegant skating without any noise For an encore, he did 3F-3Loop(fall), wow!!! Although he fell on the second 3Loop, it was unbelievably a huge jump At the end of the show, he spoke to the audiences and medias about this closing issue of the rink. This speech deeply moved me, because I could tell he really worries about young skaters' future. Then he run through the rink with young skaters (of figure skating, ice hockey, speed skating), with a big smile waving his hand to the audiences. As he was about to get off the rink, he gave a small bow with a smile to the audiences, and the smile was sooooooo cute I had a wonderful time and appreciated for the skaters, but at the same time, I felt so sad for the fact this rink is in a danger of closing. I wish Governor of Osaka Prefecture would think again about this rink and try to find another way to solve the issue. Anyway, Thank You Daisuke!! For doing a wonderful performance for the future of figure skating | |

| Thank you very much for your report and for the link, Yshion! I'm so happy to read that Daisuke showed his wonderfull 3A again! And I really want to se this camel spin!!! I can't imagine that situation for ice-rinks in Japan was so difficult... Japan has a world champion and some of the top skaters in the world... I think a lot of children want to do this sport, isn't it? | |

There're always a lot of people going skating during winter week-end only for pleasure... often it's also difficult to skate because there're too many people! I don't know exactly about young skaters, but after Torino 2006 figure skating has become more popoular than before, but not so much... During GPF in Torino last year you can find only one page about figure skating on sport newspapers... and 20 pages on football

| Rinkai EX news https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8H-qBEpckUYou can see Dai-chan's wonderful 3A around 5:40. It was really weightless. His off-ice outfit on thtat day was aslo very nice. Which do you like better, this or Takahashi-san's (<-I mean one in Korea.) ?? Hahaha. Thank you for your reply, glorydave. Wmmm. So in Italy skating is very popular among ordinary people. I used to go to ice rinks when I was in elementray school (Loooooong time ago! ), but one day I witnessed someone injured there. It made me scared enough to stop going there. Maybe I should occasionally go to ice rinks as one of figure skating fans. | |

| This is a good news for Daisuke and Japanese skaters!! http://maido.rocket3.net/rinkai/article.asp(written in Japanese only, sorry, I don't have time to translate ...) Rinkai Sports Center is going to be maintained until at least 2014, under the consideration of it's need for repair on a large scale. If they will be able to improve an administraion on the aspect of benefit, they could continue to keep the icerink after 2014 It's wonderful that big efforts of Daisuke and everyone involved were rewarded in this way!! I appreciate, as a Japanese figure skating fans, everybody who paid attentions and helped them. Thank you | |

| Oh it's great! Thank you Yshion! They'll have enough time till 2014 to come up with the ways to keep the rink open, or at least, I hope so. And yes, Daisuke should be proud of himself. | |

| Thanks, Leode!
And so I don't totally throw this thread off topic... Hopefully, more rinks will be allowed to remain open. They've also been talking about using this resin alternative to ice so that skaters can practice some moves. I hear it's not good for edge jumps and things like that.
