Yes, recording is strictly prohibited in every ice show in Japan. Dreams on Ice will be broadcasted on 1st July. We have to wait until then. It seems Dai-chan skated Kenji's Piazzolla yesterday and today's afternoon shows.

| Hello,
I went to the evening show yesterday (it’s already Sunday). The show in the morning will be broadcasted but unfortunately Dai stepped out on 3A, a very kind woman told me while I was waiting in line for the day-ticket. I was lucky to get a ticket from her, very good seat, second row in the middle. She even offered me a big discount, unbelievable.
Dai skated the perfect Piazzolla in the evening. Instant bi~g standing ovation. He was in good shape and very calm but still enthusiastic from the very beginning till the end of the show. He looked so confident and seemed to be enjoying every single moment. He was so good as usual in the opening and finale group dancing. I really love to watch him dance. I want someone to make a DVD of all opening and finale or group number’s dancing parts focused only on Daisuke. I liked Tatsuki’s program, too. He got the second biggest standing ovation. His jumps are getting better and some of his movements or enthusiasm remind me very much of Daisuke’s, even his weak camel spins.lol P Chan made a big fall on his quad in the opening, but he landed perfect triples in his program. He seemed a bit slow and weak than usual and no face expressions. It was good for me to watch Carolina skating live for the first time. She is a beautiful skater.
As for Dai, I got an impression of there’s nothing to worry about his new programs or situations. He has become a strong matured skater now and he knows what he wants to do. I don’t care anymore who his choreographer will be. He can judge and as he is such a quick learner he still has enough time to prepare and practice. His presence on the ice yesterday told me so. Go forward Daisuke and try everything you want to do!!

| Enaufomay, I'm glad that you were able to watch the show and Dai. Thanks for sharing your impressions. I'm glad read about Dai's confidence. I'm not delighted with his constant modesty, "Hanyu/ Patrick/Kozuka is sooooo awesame", etc. For example, reading translation, kindly made by Samby on another thread of our forum- I want to say in a loud voice "Dai, you ARE the best and never doubt it!"
Thanks for reporting about Patrick. Did he try 3A?
Patrick, in contrary, always speaks high of himself, despite that I didn't see him skating FS without mistakes since Moscow worlds. In his recent interview he was asked: "which skaters you look toward?" His answer was: "Stephane Lambiel. His artistry is unbelievable. He is well-rounded skater, JUST LIKE ME. Daisuke of Japan, many skaters. It's funny that skaters you compete with, also are your idols."
BTW, it's said that Miki presented her SP Stephane's choreography. Did you like it?

You know In US, they retake the part that they miss for broadcast. When I went to Pandora's show in Seattle, they are just doing that. So we, audience, can enjoy twice of amazing skating - Quote :

ITA, However, Lil, you got to think about Japanese culture here. We are trained to be humble all the time. For example, if somebody asks me if I speak English in Japan, I am supposed to say, " Yes, a little." with a smile. Well you know I finished college and graduate school here, so that is not true at all. Dai chan is a mild-mannered gentleman always, so I really doubt that he will ever make" I am the best." type of comment, even though that is what he really thinks himself. We Japanese sees confidence rather in attitude and behaviors, than words . And I believe that Dai these days are full of confidence and lI am looking forward to his yet another master piece next season.

I went to the evening show yesterday (it’s already Sunday). Me too! But I was late and I bought a ticket from a broker near 7/11. I was in a minami area, 5th row. I agree about Tatsuki. When I saw him I thought he was going to skate The Crisis or the parody on it. But he made a blend of a fun-loving boy and a prince of passion. The great ovation! I liked Mura too very much, especially his powerful 3A and the mature style. He stands out among skaters. I was late for the opening and I was reaching my chair in the dark, trying to watch the entrance of skaters. I think Chan didn't rotate a quad, the entrance wasn't on a toe-jump at all. I think he fell from 3F. But once again I was watching with "one eye" only while trying to reach my chair. Later in the show he landed 3F and didn't fall, as well as two 2A. No, Lil, he didn't try 3A. The funniest part was in a finale, when Dai, Kozuka and Hanyu together landed 3A, while Chan joined the group of Akiko, Miki, Kanako, Caro and spinned with them, not jumping 3A with boys. In the opening Dai landed his classic combo 3F-3T, 3L and a very fast combo-spin. In the show he landed his set of 3F, 3A, 3L, but that wasn't even the best part. His tango was so sensual! Bewitching, the audience didn't dare to breathe, catching his each move. Brilliant performance. He indeed looks well, I mean physically. There was something that I didn't like in the bowing procedure. Yes, he was smiling as usual, but it seemed like he was also thinking about something else. Well, it could be my imagination though. Anyway, I was happy that I could make it today. And I hope to see him in August in FOI.

| Genki, you explained about "always be humble" rule long ago. If Dai doesn't think someone is "way better" than him, and I'm wrong thinking - he does, it's good.

What about Miki's SP? I'm dying to know which music they use. I expect smth. speciall from Stephane. I don't know about that. Maybe she showed it in another DOI show. But on Saturday evening she skated her EX "You must love me". She looked beautiful, I mean her face, dress, hands. The program was 2A, 3S, spins and postures. Could be good for a retired skater. But she is going to compete. Also, there were junior skaters in DOI who challenged a more difficult stuff. But, yeah, the fact that Miki looked glowing is holy true.

Genki, at least I wish Dai was not so surprised with higher scores, as in NHK and WTT, but accept them as well deserved (because they were well deserved indeed).

| I watched 2 shows yesterday. I think his performance in afternoon was more emotional than evening's He showed what is the feeling between romanticism and eroticism to audience. Mezmorizing... I were amazed by his emotion, just unbelievable. If he were american, figureskate might be booming in US.

From your descriptions, Dai's Tango was sizzling. He really does skate an excellent rendition of the classic Tango. Maybe he will make this his SP since he does not have his programs yet.

I guess he literally said, " It is too high."at WTT, if I am not mistaken. I remember that Kozuka said the same thing in the past, and I posted in some Japanese forum , begging Kozuka to stop saying such a thing. I really do not want judges to hear that You know I understand that they would probably say that type of things due to our " always trying to be humble" culture, but it does not agree with Western culture that they literally think what it said was what it really means. ( Sorry I am getting too esoteric here???) Anyway, I guess Dai is much more confident these days. I can see it from his behaviors and attitude. So Let's pray for the best season for him

Probably this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aCeEz3mQPIA beautiful program, could be his new SP? As Enaufomay noted, his spins are surprisingly similar to Dai-chan's. (And his outfit also reminds me of Crisis!) - Enaufomay wrote:

Regarding his humbleness, may I say this? I think both Genki and Lil understand perfectly but I'm just afraid of misunderstanding of anonymous guests here. I don't think Dai-chan is trying to be humble nor pretending to be humble. The humbleness is his true nature. (Probably he was raised being taught "respect/thank other people", "be kind/nice to everyone " or more direcly "be humble". ) He's never said something arrogant nor mean to other people as far as I know. If you are just pretending to be humble, you can't hide your true personality so perfectly .

| Thank you all for your thoughts and links etc. :-)
I'm happy Tatsukisan looks so great on the ice right now, he really has improved :-)))
And I'm very happy to hear that Dai-chan is in good shape (also physically!) and enjoying what he is doing :-)
I could imagine people start fainting seeing his tango :-)) The way you describe his effect is inredible :-))))
miyu, thank you for making this clear! I imagine Dai-chan to be truly humble (as one of his charater traits) and not because he has to do so because of society reasons.
Thank you all!!!
Cheers Gudrun.
