Will Evan be a champion at Skate America this time???

I'm here in Lake Placid and I just got back from the men's short. It was a shame that Tomas didn't do better. A lot of us in the arena were shocked that he ended up 11th. Evan's first but I'm surprised he didn't crack 80 this time. Without the presence of Dai, Nobu, or Kozu, I think he'll finally win. Florent Amodio was excellent! I gave him a standing ovation because his performance reached my soul.
In pairs, Shen and Zhao were surreal. The Zhangs were quite off unfortunately.

I watched the competition online, and thought Tomas was just having another bad day, and then I read on a different board he was skating with a 39,2 C fever. Well, I hope he saw a doctor, and wish he didn't push himself this hard.

Evan's 3A is probably DG, could be a reason for him not cracking 80. His PCS, on the other hand, were quite generous.

Florent Amodio did very well this time

I only caught Evan and Tomas. I was sad for Tomas, he just slid across the ice on the 4T! If he really has a fever though, I hope he feels better soon.

I heard the Evan's axel was downgraded and that he might've received a lip call too. If so, that score is very high, especially in the PCS. I believe those are the highest PCS we've seen all season for the men's SP. Anyway, with Tomas bombing today, Evan is pretty much guaranteed the gold now. I'm guessing he'll be happy to finally not lose it to a Japanese man this year.
