| Long time, no post! I hope everybody in here is doing well! Dear Pattina, thank you so very much for the barrage of "Hyoen" glimpses and all of the other goodies you've been posting in the general news and LOTF threads! After several stressful weeks, I'm still in the process of catching up with articles and videos and everybody's comments and contributions. I'm slowly getting there! "Hyoen" has just been featured on "Going!" TV news: https://twitter.com/jdainyan/status/865962283926560768https://dai.ly/x5n46y7Our mighty warrior and the whole production look absolutely stunning and the live reports have all been overwhelmingly enthusiastic so far! Dai and Kenji after the first show: http://ameblo.jp/kenjimiyamoto/entry-12276459593.htmlThis is such an attractive look for Dai - he should keep the pony-tail! Has there been any word on a possible recording btw? I haven't seen anything. PS: I sent you a PM, Pattina! | |

| I'm sorry, I'm so late to this breathtaking treat! The show looks AMAZING!!! I so hope it doesn't end here, and there will be a tour, more performances, a DVD. I want the whole world to see this Japanese fairy tale (myth, legend) on ice! I WANT to see it. Please, make a DVD, if it can't be broadcasted. I NEED to see this... Thank you Pattina and Hullabaloo for everything! I totally agree with your last paragraphs Pattina, words cannot describe my feelings watching this man taking on another groundbreaking project and exceeding in it, even beyond expectations... What a man... | |

- I kept thinking about the butterfly Dai makes. It's more difficult than usual, I bet, because of the rich and elaborated costume. However the final effect is a move of pure beauty, high and powerful, with the gown that opens wide to create magical wings in the air. Yes, a fairy tale, a tale of magic and strong impact.
I don't know how many times I've watched that move - it really looks different and so cool! I also want to give a shout-out to Shizuka - wasn't she great as a demon-goddess? To me Dai looked a little afraid of her... Thank you Pattina for the links! And a nice new avatar!

| Dear friends, Thank you so much for the updates. I went to see Hyoen, for the last three shows. I was luckey that I had a family travel to Japan already planned on the same days for this show before the official announcement was made. I'm on my way to the airport to go home (sent my family back 2days ago LOL ) I am so lost. Missed him, that unbelievable Yoshitsune.. | |

| Daisuke, young and fresh, appears as a worrier general shining from within in the middle of cherry blossom petals flying and dancing around Daisuke, calm and masculine, stands still in the middle of people flustered by the dark and evil scheme Daisuke, filled with anger against the atrocity of the enemy, tries to jump out to go into a loosing battle stopped by his faithful retainer Daisuke, drained and in distraught, drags his legs and wanders around Daisuke, uncertain and bewildered, dreams a fragile dream, sees his love he left behind in the world he came from Daisuke, disguised as a prostitute lady cross-dressed in a masculine kimono and covered half side of his face with a mask, goes deep into the enemy's place partying and boozing up and shows his dance mad and magnificent Daisuke, told by the evil personified "I will give you the pleasure tonight" as a reward of his mesmerizing dance, squirms to protest in his arm Daisuke, defeated and detained, gets tortured helplessly by the desire of the dark princess to soil and violate his pure heart and twist his beautiful face Daisuke, elated and shiny again, with the help of his lady who has come to save him, relieves the prisoners, regains the sacred mirror, and dances dreamily with her Daisuke, graceful and determined, lines up together with his warriors against all the enemy ready for the final battle Daisuke, manly and caring, runs to save his fellow lady warriors Daisuke, wild and brute, roars and shouts like a beast from the bottom of his guts that tears apart one's soul Daisuke, in anguish and pain from the sword wounds pierced through and scraped his body, gives the final blow to the Evil to bring the end to this battle He was Yoshitsune. Nothing but Yoshitsune. He was Kabuki. It was absolute beauty, fierce and heart-wrenching | |

| Great news!!! An English video is planned!!! https://www.facebook.com/DaisukeTakahashiRoadtoSochi/posts/1033148010156097As it is part of a project to spread Japanese culture in the world, I hope it will be easy to buy it also from abroad. Twind, so happy you could attend this amazing event and fill your eyes and heart with the pure beauty of Daisuke skating, dancing and acting and with all the great mesmerizing story. I think that all skaters were great, facing this new challenge which goes far beyond usual skating. They have to use postures, facial expressions, gestures... They were acting. Dai, Shi, Akko, Kana and Nobu are friends with strong bounds and go well together, so they can make really a new frontier of "exhibition" skating. Thank you so much for superb report!! While reading on and on, I can figure the scenes in front of me. Dai is not just a skater performing some moves to be similar to a historic hero. He IS the hero, he is acting, really acting with his body (with or without skates). I wrote in previous post that at the end of longer tv news my eyes were wet. Now, again, I'm feeling tears of joy. I remember one interview - I don't remember precisely.... maybe the press conference for "Omoide no Marnie" - he was asked about performing on stages or in a movie. As usual he waved aside, smiling bashfully and saying that voicing over "anime" he could try but acting... no, no, he would be too embarrassed, being hopelessy not good at all. And now.... THIS!!! So many times he said he has not yet found a new future, but OMG he is creating a new one day by day, challenge after challenge, making figure skating a form of art and showing himself as the Great Talented Artist he is. Apologize for long and incoherent post. I'm just trying to put into words my many feelings of admiration, respect, gratitude and love for Daisuke. | |

| Again, I'm late to thank Twind for her wonderful report! So great you could see the show!!! Your words are so beautiful... and very helpful to understand and imagine (a little) the show. Now I want to see it even more! For now, here is a great fan montage from doradorax2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjrESKUsh84&feature=youtu.be | |

| Once again, thank you everyone for all of your contributions in three different threads! (Arghs, it's even more of a challenge to keep up with everything now! Not that I'm complaining about Dai being a very busy boy these days though. ) Now that I'm back from a thoroughly needed short vacation, I'm gonna try to stop by more regularly again with recharged batteries! First of all: I still need to praise you for your beautiful Hyoen report, Twind! (I'm even later than you, ilica!) You have quite a way with words! Very poetic description full of excitement and wonder. What an experience the show must have been! Everyone, who saw it has been throwing superlatives around. How did you survive Dai's swoon-inducing performances three times? I think I would've fainted at the very latest in the first show during that seductive, hypnotizing GeGeGay dance. Can't wait for the broadcast and keeping my fingers crossed tightly there will indeed be a DVD release! - PATTINA wrote:

What a great post from you as well, Pattina! Daisuke is just so talented at authentically transporting a wide range of emotions through gestures/movement and facial expressions when he's performing and I believe this has a lot to do with him pouring himself into his performances - he's not just assuming a stage persona. Yes, he's acting a part, but you always get a sense of his actual feelings and personality shining through! He is a very natural actor indeed and imo he wouldn't be out of place on a theatre stage or in a movie. Maybe he'll feel confident enough to give it a try one day! Concluding this with a very special piece of fanart: Minotsu, who has been spoiling us with translations for quite a while now, is also a very talented artist. This portrait of "Yoshitsune" in disguise is absolutely stunning - she captured that mixture of pride, grit and determination on his face so well! (I've honestly tried, but just can't avert my eyes ) https://minotsu.tumblr.com/image/161281405688

mmmmm..... not weird idea! now that he has proven to himself he can dance on floor as "almost pro" dancer and can act ..... he has to find a new challenge!!
Yes!!! Thx for posting the links to all the gorgeous fan-art! I wish I was talented enough to create sth. like this! Emiya Ichikawa (who played Princess Iwanaga; isn't he also the one, who taught Dai a few traditional kabuki poses?) took part in a talkshow event hosted by Mr. Tobe, the scriptwriter of Hyoen and reported a few very interesting Dai-related inside stories from the show's production stages! Thank you minotsu for translating several tweets of lucky fans in attendance! https://minotsu.tumblr.com/post/161416179888/daisuke-related-inside-stories-from-emiyaOf course Dai suggested hip-hop for his solo dance number! Why am I not surprised? But in the end it turned out to be an avant-garde, rather eclectic style - hip-hop in disguise, so to speak! (Very suitable for Yoshitsune's disguise! ) And Mr. Tobe felt the urge to involve Somegoro-san and Dai in a "hot" scene? Apparently Dai brings out this sort of desire in many people, male or female! I guess most of us can relate. Yoshitsune and his brave warriors backstage https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DBdYnDrUAAAv6Bz.jpg:large
