Do I see a shaved chest and no illusion mesh underneath Dai's Rach costume?           Or are my eyes deceiving me?

Yes!!! I was so nervous that his jumps might not be there at the moment, but he was on form! Airy & beautiful!

The whole medley was THE highlight for me! Everyone was great in all of the different sections and then it all culminated in Dai's gorgeous Rach (he had such outstanding presence there!!!), him and Mao encircling each other and finally Mao "exploding" with her fiery Ritual Dance!

The few moments of Mao & Dai on the ice together confirmed the great chemistry these two have! I really hope they'll get to form that touring company, which Dai was dreaming about. It would be such a match made in heaven!  


Caravan was such an improvement from AOI! He totally got into it this time!

Apologize, but soon after tv show ended I had to rush for some house-duties I could postpone no more, so only now I have time to sit down and have a look at all Dai's beautiful moments posted here and everywhere on the web.

HB - thank you so much for rich update with links and Dai-gorgeous pics!!

I know you were craving for possible new program, but I bet you'll be satisfied with Rach and Caravan. And of course skating Caravan "at home" was so much better for him, he could once again abandon himself fully to the flirty, spicy mood Kenji created for him. Booty shaking improved, too!!

And as the show goes on, he will be hotter and hotter!

to be honest, yesterday evening (in Italy, when it was already night in Japan) I saw a tweet by a fan I follow. She tweeted only one word: caravan. Nothing more. I immediately thought it was a spoiler by someone who attended final practice. But, as I found no more hints or explanations around, I decided not to post it.

Pat, there's nothing to apologize for! I'm rather tired and exhausted myself, because I got out of bed pretty early and haven't gotten around to anything else, but checking for "The Ice" related news until now. Oh, I'm more than fine with it!   Just seeing Dai being in such great shape and seemingly enjoying himself is sufficient to make me happy! And it was actually great to see his Rachmaninoff stsq again! Didn't he say he'd like to do this program again one day? Et voilà, now the opportunity arrived, so I'm sure he enjoyed that in particular.  
Yes, his booty shaking and hip swivelling were on a top-notch level - all the training paid off!!!

I didn't consider it before, but you're right - he'd be amazingly intense with that music! Or maybe Mao & Dai could perform it as part of an expanded ice ballet (based on "El Amor Brujo") with their future company! (Oh dear, I'm getting ahead of myself again, but it's such an intriguing idea!   )

He everyone I am late to the party. I had such an exhausting week at work that my sleep
was so heavy I did not hear my alarm.

Oh so many great Ice treats this morning. Dai looking resplendent in his Rach costume brings back so many fond memories! I was hoping he would skate to Caravan and he did, loved it! Dai looks
very happy to be back skating again which is his first love.

Do you remember? On 02nd July at Kansai Uni Dai said he'd like to skate for audience, but he was not able because he had just turned to new skates. According to this post by Daisuke Takahashi Road to Sochi, seems he returned to Edea brand. Thanks, ostile, for eagle's eyes!!

I'm glad not to be the only one overwhelmed by the pic & video flood.    I already posted these above, Pat! However, you linked to a better quality version of the news feature, which is of course very much appreciated!    Also thank you for the pic from Pang & Tong's twitter and especially for the marble bum picture-comparison! Yummy!!!

I noticed too in the smiling Dai-chan picture above. The Edea boots are instantly noticable with their rather unusual design. I kinda preferred the Graf ones he had before due to their more neutral look. (Guess the nerd in me is showing.   ) These are obviously just irrelevant, minor details though. The more interesting question is: are Dai's jumps so fantastic, in part because of the new boots? Maybe they helped him to stabilize them?  

ETA: Just noticed, that Daisuke still wore his Graf boots at the Kansai exhibition, so I guess the Edea ones were not yet properly broken in at that point!

I trust you, as I'm dummy in regards of skating boots. No experience, no knowledge.... nothing at all.  I remember Dai said he had changed boots at Kansai meeting, but even if I had a look at pics I couldn't understand which ones he was wearing. As Italian, of course, I'm happy if he switched again to Edea

Pattina, the two new photos of purple Dai (and beautiful Mao of course) are to die for! What a back-view!!! Fact: figure skaters have the best backsides - there's no competition, ha! Oh, and we can clearly see the outline of a nipple in the first one there - I approve!

Those flower-bouquets in front of the photo-wall at the Kansai Ice Arena were really beautiful and so opulent that they completely covered Tatsuki's, Satoko's and Nobu's pictures.

I recently read that he has two kids now. Both girls, if I remember correctly. So I agree, it's likely that it is a baby-buggy. Maybe the hooks are for shopping bags What Takahito is holding onto looks like a juice box to me...

Have a Dai-gorgeous Daiday

I went o THE ICE on 29th. I was missing both Mao and Dai on the ice so desperately, naturally couldn't wait. All show was about Mao and her career. Dai was her partner and supporter most of the time. What a shame that there is no romance between those two, only long-time devoted friendship. Otherwise they would make such a beautiful couple.)

In the opening "Ritual Dance" Dai did 3Z, with Mura. His jumps 3Z and 3F were there, as airy as ever. But Adelina was the brigthest and she beated everyone in that number. Some gothic vampire princess with firy eyes.

Then Dai showed up in "Special Medley" with Torino's Rach. "Heck!"    I thought because the old costume looked really baggy, meaning Dai is slimmer now than 11 years ago, plus with completely new hair. He skated his footsptes from that prog. And ta-da, Mao appeared, he was chasing her like some kite but in fact as some prince-deliberator who removed the spell from her (black skirt) and she became a free red bird again, flying over the ice with her unique passionate footsteps of her latest LP.

In the second part Dai skated "Caravan". Freezingly sharp, crispy, virtuoso blades made it looks so easy, that you think: oh yeah, I will just do the same. Ha-ha, go ahead an try.) What a fan joy it was to see him so happy, handosme and fecking full of life!  

And thank you, Mao, for all your carreer!  

She said  now she was thinking only about the show. Dai also is scheduled to be in FOI. So, I guess till autumn there won't be any announcement. But as a selfish fan I do want them to skate together in some ice show ballet company that they will create. Those two are rare mega stars on J-market in general and the most unique ice stars in Japan ever. So, please! I beg you both.

Agree!!! and I bet many, many fans all over the world have same feelings. They both have the same addiction to work, the internal power to create something unique and different.

Just my two cents: I'd like to watch them creating a story on Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring. Powerful music, with subtle and delicate interludes in between.... Dai and Mao could be great interpreters.
