| Today Daisuke-sensei had skating lessons for 60 lucky people at Diners Club International ice rink in Midtown Tokyo. From some tweets I understand that private photo/video cameras were not allowed and there was no media coverage also. nooooooooo I wanted to watch him so badly!!! Comments on twitter say that Dai-chan was (as usual) a very patient, attentive and caring sensei, expecially with kids. In the end he skated a bit, doing a 3jump (or more, I do not understand clearly) and layback spin. With him 2 skaters (or ex-skaters) were present as sensei. Here their pics with a smiling Dai-chan, beardless and wearing Kenji's line of practicing clothes "Charme". Dai looks even younger than at AOI!! Mio Suzuki's tweet https://twitter.com/mioskate/status/571511588999446528?lang=itJo Matsumura's tweet https://twitter.com/Joperaza0725/status/571528617080967169?lang=itAnd from now on??? Dai will appear on tv in Studio Ghibli's CM (on March 13th) and in tv documentary on Kumakawa's career, but no other public appearances are schedule at present in his official website. Just let's wait and see and enjoy together any single moment he will share with us sometime in the future | |

Hashimoto-thing was a sexual harassment, which is never funny. De jure and de facto. That perverted persona could escape responsibility because it was Japan. In some other places she would face a career-end and a lawsuit. I will never accept her legacy, and the fact that she was left to be in charge of skaters, including minors, is a disgrace of the country and its legal system. Besides that, I am sure it contributed the certain part in Dai's decision to retire. I told earlier why. "Maneater" of course wasn't a sexual harassment. It was just cheap and vulgar in its plebian taste. Thanks god Mao wasn't invited. As if that gay choreographer was mocking heterosex, and as it usually happens- ended up mocking himself. We don't know how Dai felt, maybe he will tell us in his next book years later , in rehearsal photos he didn't look enthusiastic. Joannie did comment that she felt uncomfortable. But heck, why would some misogynist choreographer care how a woman feels. The producer of SOI couldn't change 'anyone' into 'no one' and say 'as good as no one in the world'. He is supposed to treat all skaters equally. Moreover, I am not sure that nothing was lost in translation or that the phrase wasn't taken out of the context. I need to hear the whole speech before to judge. Whether Dai comes as a guest skater in SOI US & Canada or as a staff-skater, I am fine with both. His fans in Americas will have a chance to see him a lot, Dai gets his show money, the producer- his profit, everybody's happy! Btw, Plu also mentioned that he wants to see Dai in his shows in Russia. What a long-waited treat for the Dai's abnormal fan-base there. Don't see a problem.

| Thanks for the updates Pattina! Looking forward to seeing the "Marnie" CM and program.
Love the photos of Dai at work with Kenji, so serious. Dai looks like a cuddly teddy bear in his big coat. It is cold on the ice and must have been very cold outside too.
He is looking fabulous!

| Pattina, thank you for the big sized photos! Looking very concentrated.) I am so, so waiting for the Marnie program, loved the music instantly. ( p.s. a bit offtopic, but congrats to Shoma with World Junior Gold! they asked him who is his idol in figure skating. do they even need to ask? ) | |

| Thanks for all the links Pattina. I love the shots of Dai with Kenji clean shaven. Not that I'm complaining about his goatee because he looks great either way.
Thanks Jesse for letting us know about Shoma. Congratulations Shoma! I recorded the Men's Competition just to see Shoma. At the beginning of his performance Kurt Browning said "Like his hero, Daisuke Takahashi, he does have a good ownership out there on the ice. A little bit of a rock star". When he was waiting for his results Brenda Irving said "He's hoping to join his idol, Daisuke Takahashi, as a World Junior Champion". I was so happy to hear them both mention Dai. It's just confirmation that Dai may not be competing but he's never forgotten.

| Pattina, yes, they are asking him since forever, just watched very cute baby Shoma video with the same question and same answer Thank you for the links to Miyazaki fanart series. My favourite I think the Totoro one (may because it is my favorite Miyazaki movie). And the instagram one, for a moment I thought it was inspired by Miyazaki too, the colours are wonderful. I also like the one from Kiki's delivery service, Dai looks here like he really just ran out of the anime:) Dancegirl, thank you very much for Kurt Browning and Brenda Irving quotes. Me too, I much appreciate when commentators mention Dai's name, even when that he is not competing. (As it warmed me a lot when younger skaters during Sochi literally "fanboyed" around Dai, posting photos with him and very heartfelt words all around Instagram). And I also thought about Dai's junior title while waiting for the Shoma's results. | |

| Shyla and Jesse, it’s my pleasure to pass along Kurt and Brenda’s comments. I had a feeling you’d enjoy hearing that they haven’t forgotten Dai. I enjoy the CBC commentary because they seem well informed about details such as injuries, where they’ve been training or a certain skater’s respect and admiration of another (as in Shoma’s case with Dai). This sort of information interests me and I find the other commentators don’t seem to have the same knowledge or perhaps don’t care. Aside from Kurt’s own talent, how could you not love him when he’s a big fan of Dai’s and considers himself a mentor of Taka Kozuka! | |

| Dancergirl, I'm a little bit late, but thank you for reporting Kurt and Brenda's comments. No, Dai cannot be forgotten!! Brend new!!! Dai will attend Kobe Charity Event - it has been announced today http://www.charity-kobe.jp/At present Dai is the only skater listed. Will he ever leave for USA? Maybe soon after Kobe and back to Japan for FOI, I guess. Have a nice Dai-day | |

| Nice article although google translation leaves a lot to be desired. Kenji said he wanted to show Dai's humanity. Dai seemed to really enjoy this type of collaboration. Pattina the photos are gorgeous especially this one. http://news.walkerplus.com/article/56301/image310577.html Look at his face so serene he really seems to be at a peace with himself. I think retirement from competitive skating has a lot to do with it, no more stress. | |
