| Thank you, fosse, for your information. The video was taken in Yokohama, so I'm very happy to be able to see him practicing Moonlight and Stroll for PIW. masy | |

| Thank you fosse. Nice video and great article. Dai speaking English at the beginning of the video is so cute. I laughed about the comment Dai made about the other skaters getting more applause than him, don't worry Dai that rarely happens. Dai is just full of Gorgeousness! | |

Me too! Daisuke, you don't need any special costumes, when you stand on the ice, you are soooo big and always gorgeous! Gorgeousness is something that can be described by showing you! - ostile17 wrote:

Have you been able to watch it on their website, at least? The bits from "The Stroll" were absolutely great! Other than that, I am a bit disappointed with this feature, but I guess I've been spoiled by Japanese great programs!

| Ostille and Fosse, Thank you for links. I enjoyed them so much. BTW, I found out that most comments on CNN pages are negative " What is he doing in the predominantly women's sports?" " Japanese are more pathetic than Chinese." Is this a sports?" ETC. Guys, they are so bad. Will you please go to Fosse's link and leave positive comments please? The more, the better. I just asked one person why we Japanese are so pathetic. | |

But that is the whole program! So that was the whole program. No need now for me to hunt down when it will air in my part of the world. lol I thought we would see the interviewer asking Dai the questions. He is answering questions but we do not see or hear who is asking them. For all we know they could have handed Dai a script and he answered the questions while being filmed. The accompanying article is very good though. It always is a treat to see and hear Dai speak.

| Thank you Genki, for the translation. And thank you, ostile and fosse (sorry if I miss anyone else), for all the information and links. And thank you for all the well wishes for me. I enjoyed the CNN clip with a bit of PIW, and enjoyed the article, which had more of his words. I wish they showed more of his gorgeous step in the film though. - PATTINA wrote:
It's quite new for me the info on his 10 days disappearance from rehab...sure it was a very hard and painful time for Dai. Those images of Dai on the floor crying in the towel....so painful for me to see after all time passed, hardly imagine how physically and mentally painful it was for him at time
PATTINA, and for whoever interested, I thought I could share this. ↓ it was pretty much a dated one, but it's an article from Daisuke's own book, "200 Days" published after the Vancouver. The book consists of small chapters of his essays and lots of pictures. ( ) It's not a whole account of his whereabouts of entire 10 days of course, but it's his summing it up of the event with his own words, what he would share in 2010. I'll put it in the next entry.

| During my Runaway, the Truth is. . . From the end of 2008 till February 2009 was the hardest time after the surgery of my knee injury. I never could imagine getting a medal in the Olympics a year after that. At that time, I had bad situations piled up all at once not only with my injury but also with my private matter, in relationships as well. I was totally drained. My mental dependency grew strong. While knowing that I couldn’t trust, I still got hooked with people or things and then my anxiety and frustration grew even stronger. Feeling empty, I was crying alone in my room every day for a month. My skin became terribly rough. I was falling apart. To go to the rehab, I rented an apartment near the hospital in Kyoto, going back and forth between that and the hospital daily. One day in February on the way back from the tanning parlor I went from time to time, I just didn’t feel like going back to the apartment, and I just got on the Shinkansen bullet train. The destination was Tokyo. I went to Shinjuku with no plan. I had nothing prepared for going out overnight, so I got some clothes. I had no reservation with any place to stay, so in Shinjuku, I asked around “Do you have any vacancy today?” It was a peak time of school/college entrance exam season, so many of them were full. Some were not happy to have a walk-in and refused to get me a room. Finally, I got a room in a small business hotel. I shut down for all the contacts, with the hospital for my rehab or people around me. I did not answer any calls. For about three days, I kept shopping wandering alone around Isetan or Marui Department stores in Shinjuku. I bought quite a few clothes but I never put on those I bought at that time. I was forcing myself to shop in desperation buying them without wanting them very much, so after all I don’t really like them and they aren’t good for coordinating with anything. They had no lasting value. Anyway, I probably might as well avoid wearing the clothes bought in such a frame of mind. I was really going nuts. Until around June last year (2009) I was full of anxiety and emptiness, and I don’t recall any moment I got relaxed. You had it hard, didn’t you? If you hang in there a little longer, something good may happen even to a guy like you. I want to say this to me of those days. Once you feel anxious and in vain, your dependency grows and you can get caught up in a downward spiral, but now I’m clear from that strange emotional dependency, and I feel very much easier. Now I don’t hate being alone and staying home alone is just fine. These days I don’t get invited much (lol) but I don’t go out much even I get asked. Now it grows to be more of a pain to go out. I could simply think, “OK, let’s try hard tomorrow again.” I guess when you have a sense of fulfillment, having something to do, having somewhere you belong to, you probably wouldn’t mind being all by yourself. But I don’t think at all like, “Oh, I did overcome it well. It was not real me who ran away, I can’t believe I did”. It was nothing but I who ran away. That is my weakness and today I still think it was just like me. Daisuke, You would do such a thing. You still probably will. That’s me. (End of the article) page 75-76 Daisuke Takahashi Official Book "200 Days, the fight up to the Vancouver" Sorry for any mistakes, for what I couldn't fully put what he meant into the right words.

| Thank you, Twind You did a really good job . For me, it’s very difficult to translate what Daisuke said . His words, he always speaks more than the actual words, full of between the lines like his skating, I say. I like that “200 days”, full of lovely pictures. That escape part, so heart breaking, makes me feel how he loves figure skating... and happy to know he came back to Utako-sensei’s home, it means something, right? masy | |

Of course, I do not know the original Japanese version, but your translation is quite good, the words you use convey deep feelings. Believe me, in the end I was crying I could not help sobbing As Shyla wrote, how brave Dai was to speak freely and without shame of his nightmare days and braver to find something positive even in the darskest hours. No matter how next season will end, because he is so dear to my heart and each day I learn something that makes him ever dearer. I open my pics folder now, because I need Dai's gorgeous smile to dry my tears away.
