| 2013 European Figure Skating Championships Jan 21-27, 2013 Zagreb, Croatia Starting Orders/Results: http://www.isuresults.com/results/ec2013/An interview with Tomáš Verner from Absolute Skating (because he says some nice things about Daisuke ) ~~ http://www.absoluteskating.com/index.php?cat=articles&id=2013tomasverner... "When asking if he can name some programs by other skaters which are technically on a high level and also interesting for the people, he replied: "I always mention Daisuke Takahashi when I get this kind of question. Last season he had blues as his free skating. It was a slow, boring music, if someone else chose this music, people would die looking at it. But with him, those 4 and a half minutes flew, it was fantastic. He has the skill to draw in the people and to interpret the music. It was interesting, modern and great. I respect this guy, I like how he looks at skating. Even though he has different choreographers, he has his own style."... Good Luck, Tomáš! And the others! | |

| Thanks ilica for starting this thread. I watched some of the ice dancing earlier. The two Russian teams and the Italians all skated really great. A lot of empty seats in the arena.
I have always liked Tomas' skating and personality. The last couple of seasons have been tough for Tomas, his jumps had abandoned him. I am hoping that he does well and gets back into good form again.

Yes, poor Tomas, I remember his Blues program, I fell a little in love with him back then (blues does this to me ). I still like him, and now even more, because of the things he says about Dai. I tried to watch the ice dancing too, but, I don't know if the particular choice of dancing styles this season, or the whole idea of Short Dance is quite unwatchable to me, except for a few pairs. But I liked Bobrova/Soloviev, they were really beautiful, like some porcelain figurines revived to dance. - Shyla wrote:

Sad. But during the pairs SP, the arena was much more full, so maybe I'm not alone in my opinion about Short Dance formula.

| Hi, guys~
I just have finished watching SD. Some teams performed really good. But Judges didn't perform well again.
Frankly I love B/S and think that their FD is one of best in this season but yesterday was not their night. They made some minor mistakes on twizzle but judges gave top position to them. It seemed to me judges already made up their mind to give a crown to Russians.

| I watched the men on a live feed and Javier was amazing, both his SP and LP. Congrats to him!!! Also Congrats to Amodio and Michal!
That was a great competition so many of the men skated really, really well. Look at Brian Joubert he came in fourth, good for him! He has had so many injuries and problems I was really happy that he had a good competition same goes for Michal.

| I couldn't watch men's event at US nationals. Jeremy is third place? What happened to Jeremy? So Aaron and Miner are going to London? ******************************************************************** U.S.F.S announces 2013 world teams https://www.usfigureskating.org/Story.asp?id=48908&type=mediaSorry to Jeremy. | |

Me too But I don't even want to start about the results... Jeremy... This sport is so cruel... I guess you have no chance without a quad these days,... Still, his skating is so beautiful ~~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SK1TQn6m3AThe discovery for me - Alexander Johnson ~~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-1AI1fXdiEchoreography by Tom Dickson

| JSF announced Ryuichi Kihara as Narumi's partner. I think that's good to each other.
Ryuichi is one of promised youngsters who didn't get enough chance to compete in deep Japanese senior men. I wish them good luck!
************************************************************************** Yes, ilica It's so cruel sport. ...If Jeremy had a clean skate after falling, he could have made World team....

| Yes ilica I loved Alexander Johnson too. Tom Dickson's choreography is wonderful!
To bad about Jeremy even with his mistakes he was still so much above the rest of the skaters. Max Aaron the young man that won has great jumps but that is about it. I was not impressed with his skating at all, but you know how the judges are when they see the quads they get blinded. I could not believe the PC's they gave him, he won't get those PC at Worlds or 4CC. I was glad that Ross Miner had a good skate.
Thanks fosse for the info about Narumi and I am glad she has found a partner.

I was glad that Ross Miner had a good skate. Unfortunately it's still a sport and you're not above the rest if you can't land your jumps. I love Jeremy's skating but I'm sorry, he's had way too many wasted opportunities in my opinion. Time for the new generation! Max is only 20 and still has time to develop - he has all the basics. He has potential for great line and stretch but just needs a program that shows it. We'll have to see how Max does at his first senior international competition though. As long as they can maintain the jumps, I think Max and Ross will lead the US men's team at next year's Olympics. Oh and leaving Tom Z certainly would help Max as well!

| Maybe Max will develop into a great skater but what I saw at Nationals was an ok skater who jumped his way to the National title. I am not saying that Jeremy should have won I am saying that his skating skills are superior to the field he was competing against at Nationals unfortunately his problem is his jumps have abandon him. | |
