| In these days there're different National Championships. GermanyStefan Lindemann doesn't compete this year. Infact he didn't compete in Grand Prix and he will miss all the season for problems at adductors. Maybe he needs to operate. Look at the article in german: http://de.eurosport.yahoo.com/13112007/30/wm-dritter-lindemann-komplette-saison-absagen.htmlI don't know the other german skaters... ...by the way gold medal for men went to Clemens BRUMMER, for ladies to Sarah HECKEN and naturally for pairs to Aljona SAVCHENKO / Robin SZOLKOWY with 214.67 points. RussiaOksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin don't partecipate at Nationals, because of an operation on Shabalin's meniscus. I don't know if they can compete at European Championship. So gold medal in dance went to Yana KHOKHLOVA / Sergey NOVITSKI. Yuko KAWAGUCHI / Alexander SMIRNOV won pairs competition and Ksenia DORONINA ladies competition. New Russian champion for men is Sergei VORONOV. Silver medal went to LUTAI and bronze one to GRIAZEV. Here you can find result in Russian: http://www.goldskate.ru/RussianNationals/schedule_eng.shtml | |

| Thanks for the news and the link to Voronov's SP, glorydave! I think this is the first time I've seen anyone skate to Piano Concerto #2 for the short program. I'm not fond of the version Voronov is using though. It sounds like it's being played on a harpsichord rather than a piano. | |

| Thank you very much, glorydave! Poor Lindemann. I wish he can come back soon. Voronov is a beautiful skater but I agree with glorydave and swandie. | |

| Thank you so much for the information, glorydave! Yeah, I know that his program is "Piano Concerto No. 2" by Rachmaninov. As matter of fact, I bought this album by Ashkenazy yesterday. He did great performance!! Daisuke used his album at FS during 2005-2006 season and he did more intense performance of his strokes and each movements. _________________ GO DAISUKE!!

| Thank you glorydave!! Wow, Voronov did really good! His jumps are clean and skating is good, but I felt somehow Russian mens have a similar style. Actually, Voronov has an injury now, so he couldn't do Flip and Lutz. I hope he can recover as soon as possible. Anyway, Voronov also used this suite last season, didn't he? I remember I saw his SP to Rachmaninov Piano Concerto at 2006 Skate America. - Quote :

Michelle Kwan used it for SP at 1997-98 and 2001-02. (both Olympic season) She was the Legend! | |

| I found some news that I'm going to write. Maxim Shabalin was operated 24th december. Maybe Domnina/Shabalin will compete at Europeans, infact Russian Federation convoked them for this competition. Also Stefan Lindemann was operated with success. Now he's ok, he wants to start training again. Olympic Games 2010 are his goal. http://www.artonice.it/?q=it/node/4752 | |
