| Yes, loved that fluff piece and about time they did one on Daisuke! Oh, and he did the whole thing with "attitude" - like the way he skates the short program | |

| Thanks for the information and your impressions swandie, Shatterpoint, and Carol! I saw this clip on ESPN too! I was so surprised and happy to see it because ESPN has never done a pre-made clip/fluff piece about Daisuke before! Daisuke was super cool in it. He wore casual/normal clothes and had a regular hairstyle, but his actions were very hip-hop like. The commentator Paul Wylie also kept saying how the hip-hop cyber swan program is "one to be remembered/is very important for this season." I recorded this on my tape too, but I don't know how to upload it from video tape to online. I'm not very technologically advanced. Does anyone know how to do this or can give some basic tips? ESPN didn't interview Daisuke after he won NHK though (they did with Tomas). Naughty naughty. | |

| He said, "But this season, I'm bringing (although I'm hearing 'blinging') the hip-hop to the ice" and then "I learn by watching and I stole a couple of moves" | |

- Daisuke Takahashi Fluff - 2007 NHK (ESPN)
http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=oWZQXCt6ZlA Hi, I've just seen these posts and this is a HQ vid of this fluff. Enjoy http://www.savefile.com/files/2123317Let me write down again what he is saying in it " Some people say my footwork is cool. But this season I'm bringing the hip-hop to the ice. I learn by watching and I stole a couple of moves. I think it's cool. Check it out!" But I don't quite understand the last sentence"I stole a couple of moves" What does it mean? Why does he use the word "steal"? Could someone explain it? | |

| dilemma, he meant it as a figure of speech and not literally. He's simply saying that he transferred some of the moves he learned to his choreography. | |

| Hi dilemma and swandie, If it's not the common usage of the word "steal" in English, I think Dai-chan thought what he wanted to say in Japanese and then tranlated it into English in his mind. Becaue we frequently use the word "steal" in Japanese to express learning someone's skill or technique by just seeing it, not by being taught. But actually Dai-chan took hip-hop dance class in NYC with Nikolai for a while before he tried hip-hop on the ice. | |

| miyu, it's pretty common to use "steal" that way in English but your explanation makes a lot of sense. | |
