The Figure skating is not so popular here, how about Canada?jocolor

Hi pastello:

Yes, I'm aware that skating is not that popular in Australia and that is sad.

I do like & have met these skaters from Australia:
Joanne Carter; Phoebe Di Tammaso; & Robert McNamara.
Do you know of them or have you met them?

I also think Matthew Tinson is very good & I expect to see good things from him in the future. I saw him on the internet @ the 2005 Hollins Trophy & was impressed with him then.

I understand that Tina Wang is doing well skating in competitions in Australia.

Yes, skating is very popular in Canada.
Though we have been in a big slump for the past few seasons in each discipline as far as 'breakout stars'.
Except our dancers are doing very well this past season.
Seems we have done a flip. We used to be very strong in Singles & Prs. & weak in Dance but now we have 3 very good strong dance couples.
Dubreuil & Lauzon; Virtue & Moir & Weaver & Poje.

BTW Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir come from my city London in Canada.
Andrew Poje (who is partnered w. Kaitlin Weaver) comes from Waterloo
about an hours drive from London).

I saw on this forum that you had a birthday recently. May I offer you belatedly my "Many Happy Returns'.

Thanks for posting your 'Hello' to me in this topic.
Nice to meet you no matter which country you are from, but to be sure, Australia is a neat country to live in I'm sure.
What part of Australia do you reside? North; South; East or West?

G'Day!
